A lot of people do this but it's unstable since the waveform changes depending on the apu cycle state and that's why a lot of people does not recommend it

Sure! First you need 75% pulse wave on the first channel and then a 25% pulse wave on the second channel. The 2 pulse waves needs to be at the same note, but one of them needs to be delayed a little bit because if you do a 75% pulse wave and a 25% pulse wave at the same time they will cancel each other. The delay part is the hardest to make because it depends on the note, the frequency of the chip and some other small parameters. So you will surely need to bruteforce a bit to find the correct delay.
@@no.bits.absolutelyfake Well 0:00 to 0:06 and from 0:25 to the end, I just make 2 same notes on 2 different channel and I detune one of the two a bit. Then for the others I did the same thing but instead of detuning one I delay one by a small amount of time to make interesting waves but this technique is really hard to keep consistent between notes.

I'm not talking about detuned pitch
Yeah I agree, especially for the high-pass filter. It's soo hard to keep flawless.
@@killar_studio yeah lmao
Thought it is easier to do on Mod/XM tracker modules, where people do a fake NES chiptune style.
Nintendo Wii: 0:06
Wow Tim Follin did this all the time in his C64 songs. I always thought this was some kind of low pass filtering.
C64 pulse waves can change duty cycle and imitate this effect without needing 2 channels
0:23 they zoomed in
lol
A change to a lower octave is like a 2x zoom
I think the composer for Sonic 3 & Knuckles did that for the PSG's in Angel Island Act 2. I'm really sure
Wii Freeze sound at the 6th second

0:04 This one reminds me of Game Gear Baku Baku Animal opening.
I hear this trick 0:01 in many NES games
0:04 i used this trick in my nes game
First one could be used for a Sylvania Castle Zone Act 1 Remix
So it’s basically creating a flanger effect manually?
Kind of. For some parts it's just by detune slightly 1 of the 2 squares.
me when i ever so slightly detune pulse 2
How to deune in famitracker?

Reminds me of Ring Modulation
Shoutout to Wii crash!
works on gameboy console too
Yes for sure!
please tell me how to do high-pass filter

Oh
How to make this effect in famitracker/furnace?
It may sound like a reese bass
Witch effect are you talking about?

Nice!😄🤩😎👌
There he is!
However, i've only ever heard this trick 0:04 in Fester's Quest.
