Over the last 20 years, I've played a multitude of different guitars, amps and pedals. Some of it was great, some wasn't. Some was plain bad guitar gear. Here's a rather candid take on gear that I didn't like.

QUESTION: DO you give pointers on how you get your incredible vibrato technique?
just listen and vibrate the string
@@LfunkeyA Up or down?
Joey, do you think some left handed guitars might not get the attention by the manufacturer that the right handed ones do? Just throwing it out there. Also, the "Prince Of Tone" is a good alternate to the KOT. It sounds great, has a smaller footprint and is much more accessible.
I have the Duke of Tone.
I love it. I opened it up an adjusted the trim pot after reading that it was too bright compared to the King of Tone. One of my most used pedal on my board.
Fair enough! :)
I own an Epiphone ES-335 PRO that I love and it was a fraction of the price of the Gibsons I checked out.
You can find jewels without blowing money on the "high end" stuff.
You should start giving guitar lessons 😅.. I and many will be your student for sure
Just buy Tokai...game set match!
And of course.........a Kemper!
Hello, interesting video. I really like your YT channel and your way of playing guitar. Among the worst guitars I think of a standard Gibson LP Faded (2005?) with worse finishes than Chibson copies. There are also the recent Fender Vintera Telecaster Road Worn 50's with fret edges that cut like razor blades and a ridiculous relic that looks very artificial.
For the amps I had the Marshall Vintage/Modern 50w head which I quickly sold because the sound was so bad especially compared to the JCM800 or the 1987 plex! In the specialized press everyone praised the qualities of vintage/modern but the reality is that it sold poorly and was only a failed test. The Line 6 spider 4 (15w) is a nice piece of shit too, all the sounds are compressed and messed up. For pedals I'm thinking of the Ibanez ThrashMetal and the Boss MegaDistortion which are really ugly!
hsve a squier Custom tele ...changed pu's to 51 nocasters now the guitar is awesome 😊 also have a fender vintage II 61 tele ...love it to bits ...and I like the morning glory by the way ...sorry ...duke of tone is a bit mehh😅
Funny you mention Duke of Tone. I picked up a Prince of Tone while on the waitlist for a KoT and I found it pretty disappointing. The only tone that works for me is as a simple clean boost because it has lots of headroom and if you like the idea of a boost that adds a bit of mids.
Joey what are your pickups in your Tele Custom Shop, and what are the best Teles besides a Fenser Custom shop?
Mass production, its a big brand weakness.
Thanks for sharing honest point of views. I think it does some good as all gear reviews have become advertisements…. Fully in Line with 335s. I had it on my bucket list. Went to test semi-hollows with a friend. The Gibson custom shop disappointed me so much considering the price. The good thing is that I discovered Eastman… it is now on my list. Their T486 is just amazing in terms of quality and tone.
If you can afford it check out the Collings 335s.. can’t get any better than that.
Have you tried Rode M3? I really like those mics, I wonder how those compare to NTE? I just did a recording with a pair as overheads, sounded really good.
haven't tried it, but I have to say the Neumann Km184 is pretty stellar.
@@joeyjooones I'm sorry to hijack this guy's comment, but DO YOU GIVE POINTERS ON HOW TO GET YOUR INCREDIBLE VIBRATO TECHNIQUE?
I’d like to know your thoughts on the fender super sonic 22?
Love the clean channel, not so much a fan of the lead channel.
So unterschiedlich sind die Geschmäcker. Dem Silver Jubilee kann ich nichts abgewinnen aber den VintageModern find ich klasse.
I personally love the Silver Jubilee most out of all the Marshall amps I've owned.
