Again I get the outrage. I see the violence being perpetrated and suffered on both sides of the conflict the Arab and the Jew Palestinians.
Is anyone's suffering any less than another's?
Is the war now in the 8 month salvaging any form of Peace? Will the victims return to their homes, and the communities will they return to a calm, and humane existence? No.
This war may produce some results if a victory is needed to say to the People of the World that One side vanquished the other. That will be short lived as the wars only create refugees and hostility toward the destroyers of one's life and home and culture.
With the Creation of Israel, will there be peace? Will the destruction of Palestine will that bring Peace?
America, it's formation was bought by wars, first wars of conquest against the indigenous tribal peoples all across the Mountains and into the Ohio and Indiana valleys and on to the plains and then on to the Mountains and into the West. Each decade or so brought more advancement of European settlers into north America, while destroying Native Tribal ways of life that had existed for thousands of years, even before the formation of England or German as modern countries.
Now America supports efforts all over the world, wars in Ukraine and Israel and potential wars in South Korea and Taiwan. And internally America has this war against the drugs being smuggled into our cities and the wealth and health of so many people be sapped permanently. Then there is the still existent racial and economic barriers between so many people suffering from mass loss of income and social place in American society. Just look anywhere and you will see dirty and tired old men and women pushing shopping carts of old clothes and blankets though many of these tired, old people may be 30 or so years of age.
Life on the run, life on the roadside, life in refugee camps and life in temporary shelters erected after some natural calamity cause by sudden and outsized rain or snow or wind pushes though a peaceful town or city, the forces of an insidious and relentless climate model gone out of behavior in scale and fury that we have not seen before.
The Wars, our wars against Nature, against each other have to stop. You will never again have peace.
I am talking to all of you, everyone and everywhere. Peace can't be bought by having better weapons and sinking whole cities into the mud an muck of destruction. Peace can't be bought by building walls, on our side are green valley's of watered fields and orchards dripping with fruit and on the other, sand and wind and people wandering with few possessions and remnants of herds from water hole to Wadi to Billabong to Cheh, or Chah ab, to whatever your tribe calls it.
How long can Humanity survive when one side drains the life from another? We have been fighting like this for 10 thousand years. The sands cover the ruins of past cities raided and sacked and razed by fire or worse and the bones of people and horses and camel all mangled and interspersed in a collective maze of fragments bear sad and silent witness to the poverty of Mans efforts.
How can I be well, if I survive on the suffering of others?
How can I be prosperous, when the gains I have made were bought by the losses of many others that now find themselves stricken and forced to shelter among rocks or cliffs?
How can I call myself civilized with the blood of countless deaths staining mine or my ancestors hands? Over and over again, maybe I am "lucky" being the benefactor in a cruel contest of survival amongst many peoples from the past that only my distant and now dead ancestors remember in their times of conflict and victory.
