Good video! 👍 I got over 8500 miles on my 2016 Hawk. It's been a great bike. They will last if taken care of and most important, grease and lube everything up before you even take the first ride. There is little to no grease on everything. Pop the plastic ring off the wheel bearings and pack them with grease then replace the plastic cover.
Also check valve lash. Had hard time keeping it running when cold when it was new. Adjusted valves Intake.003 Exhaust.005 @ TDC compression stroke. Runs and idles like it supposed to now.

Thanks!! I really appreciate all your comments, they are always positive! Glad to hear it’s paid off lol. The hardware falling out does seem like a very common issue for most. barely 50 miles on mine, so far. luvn it. Seller can only provide original parts. So, I'll review your videos and look for sources for the parts. "CG" engine. mikuni style carb. You do anything to let the stock exhaust open up?
Awesome! Lots of links to good parts in the description box. Mine exhaust is stock, the cat breathes really well in mine, no restriction, it’s all stock. I’m a strong believer in running stock parts on most bikes including the hawk (with a lot of exceptions of corse) but Iv had a lot of good luck running stock parts on the hawk.
So I got my hawk like a year and a half ago and I live here in Utah and winters here are kinda harsh so after a hard winter idk what happened but it totally killed the battery (even though most of the time it had a battery tender on it) when I came back to get it up and running for spring this year more than half the acid in the battery was gone, that and some of the bolt holes aren't lined up properly but it's just for the fenders so it's no biggie, other than that I agree with you it's a great bike! Though something either around the front suspension or front axle creeks a bit and I have no idea what it could be, it might be the break pads rubbing against the rotors but idk I'm not as mechanically inclined like this dude haha

Congrats! They are great bikes! If I was personally looking for a battery i would get a YUASA battery. Iv had a lot of Honda fourwheelers and dirt bikes, they all came YUASA batteries and they last for years. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching!
I just reached 100 miles on mine. I've been trying to pay close attention to everything on the bike. I ride it really rough so I'm definitely going to be changing the chain soon. I haven't changed the sprockets yet because I haven't needed any top speed boost yet. It's an awesome bike that I love so far.
😂😂 I wouldn’t recommend riding illegally. Sooner or later you will get caught lol. All those old lady’s and concerned citizens have sharp eyes 👀 hehe be safe out there 🤘
@@masondenison1791 I really like the stock setup (stock carb with 110 main jet, keep in mind your jetting is different depending on your sea level) if you want more power Iv heard a mikuni carburetor with proper jetting wakes the bike up a lot. Also some basic things like removing the catalytic converter will help power. One thing to keep in mind is that the bike is 13hp stock so you can get a little bit more power but much without doing some really serious mods. Nitrous would be cool to see on one of these bikes but I wouldn’t recommend it lol. Hope this helps!
Went to look up hawk 250 reviews and found this. Not sure if I'm getting the efi version or carb do you think efi is worth the 500$ more. Think it has bigger forks and steel pipe as wheel. I'm planning on a purchase next year. Was looking at dr200s and they are rising in price so going to grab one of these more power anyways. Might wait until I find one used for a killer deal.
They are definitely going up in price! A lot of people have had doubt about the hawk 250, but they are being proven as very good and reliable bikes! Personally i cannot comment on the EFI hawk, I haven’t had any personal experience with it. I can tell you that my carbureted hawk has been and awesome reliable bike. You Might go to the motocheese RUclips channel and see how his efi hawk (hawk dlx) is holding up. If I had to guess it is probably a very good bike too. Thanks for watching!
@@goodolboys713 was worried about getting it registered in nc for street use as a carbuerated model. Changed my mind it's either the 250 hawk Carb mode or if I spend more money the lifan xpect 200.

Codie Kennedy can’t speak to the durability or reliability of the Lifan, but I can tell you from experience the hawk 250 is a great bike! Thanks for watching!
I haven’t looked into that, legally I am not sure, I can tell you I was riding a fourwheeler that said 16 plus when I was five. Be careful, use common sense, have fun, and you will be fine. Thanks for watching!
This is the video you need to watch: ruclips.net/video/XKCC3suCjGQ/видео.html be prepared for people that suggest cutting your air box off, or putting nitrous to the motor, you don’t need any of that. The bike will go 65 completely stock other than a different main jet and changing the sprockets. Also, there are claims of unrealistic top speeds, this bike is capable of 60 and a little over, but don’t expect too much more. Great example is my Honda crf250l it has 24hp and it tops out at 75, in comparison the hawk is only at 13-16hp. Point being, you could supercharge the hawk and it probably wouldn’t see much hp gain. Change the main jet and the sprockets and you can hit 65 all day of flat ground. Hopefully this helps! Thanks!
Hey , i have 400 miles on mine so far. I am short so I changed the rear shock, slid up the front forks an inch or so, shaved the seat, overall I believe I reduced the seat height about 4 to 5inches. Sprockets are 17 and 42. I put a 105 main jet and adjusted the mixture screw also. The bike goes a little faster now. I have had fun on this bike. But the vibration is terrible and was worse before I changed the sprockets, I don’t think it’s related to balancing the wheels, since I can make it vibrate standing and in neutral and reving the engine. Any suggestions?? Thanks
Great choice on the gearing! So first I can definitely tell your feeling engine vibration, these engines are unbalanced, basically the best thing you can do to avoid vibration is run at very low rpm. So, Yes I have a few things that might help you, to start I have a gearing video: ruclips.net/video/XKCC3suCjGQ/видео.html In the video I explain that right around 5500rpm the bike is happy and 5500rpm the bike does not vibrate as much. (Lots more good info on how to gear your bike for less vibration, there’s a lot of good info that would be worth checking out) I would recommend changing your rear sprocket to a 40t for less vibration. If I remember correctly you can cruise at 55mph 17-40 gearing and the bike is running right at 5500 rpm, so it makes for a lot less vibration. Hopefully this makes sense, if it doesn’t just check that video out that’s linked above. Thanks for watching!
It’s fairly normal to get some weird smells out of a new bike, especially a Chinese one. When my Hawk 250 was new it was a totally different smell and experience compared to some more Main Stream bikes. There’s a couple things that come to mind, 1 the bike has a catalytic converter which makes the exhaust smell different, 2 the fresh paint on the engine and exhaust will burn off/dry for the next 800 miles, (At least that’s how it was on my bike), 3 do a close check on the bike, make sure there are no wires on the engine or exhaust. Hopefully this helps, thanks for all the comments!
I'm curious, since you have reinforced the swing arm, is the bike able to handle jump now, like the one you went off when you bent it? I think this is one of my big concerns because I tend to ride hard when I'm off road and I can see myself jumping it just not thinking about the need to take it easy. I would be curious to know. Thanks.
So.. the swing arm bent in the next spot after this fix, I fixed the swing arm a 2nd time, now it’s bullet proof. Now something else is going to give now that the swing arm is bulletproof. Bottom line is the hawk needs better suspension to be jumped without bending or breaking parts. Hopefully this helps, thanks for watching!
Haha yeah I feel that! My bike is very cold blooded too! I have to warm my bike up for at least 5 minutes, longer when it’s very cold out, when it’s warm i don’t really have any issues. My bike has over 4,000 miles now and it still starts the same with the pz30 lol. Thanks for watching!!
I search for universal parts on line. I have been able to fix 99% of the bike with random universal parts from on line. Definitely takes some time but if you don’t mind searching for parts it not a big deal. Thanks for watching!
Mine has lasted for 7,000 miles of abuse, water in the engine oil, dust getting past the filter. Other than a handful of this these are very durable bikes. Registration is no more than any normal car, insurance is dirt cheap!
Hey bud I have a question I seriously f***** my bike up and I ran the thing without oil by mistake and seized the motor do you have any ideas what I could do as an upgrade motor
Sorry to hear the news! In all honesty there are a lot of great motors out there, however I’m sure in most cases you would need to do some serious modifications (for them to Fit the bike) If I personally was in your situation I would put another hawk 250 motor in the bike, from what I have seen and experienced these motors are bullet proof. The other option would possibly be to start fresh with another bike.. as you can see none of the options are very good but there is always more options! Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
@@goodolboys713 it's kind of funny actually I blew up the motor an hour and a half after I just sold my car I literally was coming back from the bank. I was driving an Acura legend 1990 that I had rebuilt.
I got the chain off amazon, just type in 428size o-ring chain. The chain I got was 134 links so I had to shorten it. Video coming soon on the chain and sprockets. Thanks for watching!
I’ve never owned a Chinese bike I have 44 miles on my 2020 this thing is a bunch of crap but it’s not bad after you fix up everything it pretty wide compared to a Yamaha 250 but it’s manageable I bought it because it’s a really cheap dualsport to ride the road or off-road and I’m not to upset with with it after I got it fixed up but yea the chain it no good
Yes there is lots to go through to get the bike straightened out, it is definitely wide compared to most any Japanese bike. Yes the chain is definitely a controversial thing, some people can use the stock chain for thousands of miles, others like me only get a few hundred miles out of it. But yeah in all honesty you cannot beat this bike for the price. I have just short of 3000 miles on my bike with almost no issues, there has been small things here and there but that’s it. Thanks for watching!
I feel your frustration I purchased my from those people from Texas, just to make a short story they ship my motorcycle to me on a pallet with a rope wrapped around with shrimp wrap👎🏻 I have to fix all kinds of shit on the bike before I even got to ride her, So far I got $2, 756.00 invest on this bike I purchase the Hawk DLX 2020 model supposed to be full assemble.🧐 yeah right they didn't do anything to the bike not even air on the tires. But I got over it I got her looking beautiful now. Now my biggest frustration is the process of breaking the engine because you can't really go that fast one thing I noticed I switched to Lucas synthetic oil and she don't vibrate as much as before. I only have 240 miles on her so far she's running good. I know for that money I could've purchase a used Japan motorcycle but at the end of the day the parts are cheap and they're really easy to fix. Good luck with your bike so far I changed my oil six times just making sure everything will go smooth breaking this engine. 🤓 I'm just wondering how much speed have you got out of your bike stock. Me myself I hit 60 miles I got to say it was scary.lol I'm not used to riding something so light it feels like the wind blow this f***** side to side 😲
ConnectionStar I have seen 65 mph out of my hawk stock, (flat ground, realistic real world testing) no performance mods other than 110 main jet if you even consider that a performance mod. I suppose it’s important to mention gearing, I was running 17/40 gearing when I hit 65 mph top speed. It is perfect gearing for the road, not so much for off road tho. I am now running 16/42 which I really like a lot, I am about 50/50 on and off road so 16/42 is the sweet spot for me. 16/42 gearing top speed on flat ground realistically, your looking at 50-55 top speed. Wanted to mention that of corse you can reach higher top speed going down hill, but we are talking about top speed on flat ground, with a stock hawk. Have to clarify for some of the hawkers out there that love setting top speed records lol! Thanks for watching!
Have you had the sprocket bolts snap off yet I forgot to mention the lovely design of the rear wheel hub that has to be the worst concept of design on the planet I wish I could show pictures of the one I got its going into the garbage no joking whatsoever I couldn't sell such ish that dangerous to anyone with having a clean conscious and sleep at night soundly
I have 3600 miles on my hawk now and all Iv done is simple maintenance other than fixing the swing arm and fixing some welds on the pegs. (These are not common issues though, I ride my bike a lot harder than 99 percentile. My point being, your not going to run into these issues more than likely) as far as a better bike, Iv never had any of the other Chinese bikes. Iv heard the hawk dlx is supposed to be good.. what I can tell you is, my hawk has been an awesome and reliable bike for 3600 miles. 99% of what Iv done to the bike has all been basic maintenance. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
I’m practically asking to burn my clutch, I am slipping and riding the clutch quite often. So far 7,000 miles and I’m on the stock clutches with no sign of failure yet. That would be a great video, I will keep that in mind. Thanks for watching!
Mikuni STYLE carberator = some parts do not interchange. swap to a Mikuni or do a Holley 4-barrel trik if u r aftr a bigr pilot jet...oversize the pilot jet orifice yourself by drilling it. Tho, the idle set screw duz a lot, you would be tampering with that circuit.

I feel your frustration I purchased my from those people from Texas,
just to make a short story they ship my motorcycle to me on a pallet with a rope wrapped around with shrimp wrap👎🏻
I have to fix all kinds of shit on the bike before I even got to ride her,
So far I got
$2, 756.00 invest on this bike I purchase the Hawk DLX 2020 model supposed to be full assemble.🧐
yeah right they didn't do anything to the bike not even air on the tires.

Thanks,
I seen that video you made I will try what you telling me I'll let you know what it turned out. 👍🏻
I have 3k miles on my 2017 Hawk. I ride the piss out of it on woods trails.
Heck yeah!! Ride on brother 🤘
Lol sounds like you had a hard time with it. I have 7,000 miles on my bike now, all my sprocket bolts are still in good shape.
I think I'm going to get one. Is there anything else comparable to this or is this best one to get for the price?
I have 3600 miles on my hawk now and all Iv done is simple maintenance other than fixing the swing arm and fixing some welds on the pegs. (These are not common issues though, I ride my bike a lot harder than 99 percentile. My point being, your not going to run into these issues more than likely) as far as a better bike, Iv never had any of the other Chinese bikes. Iv heard the hawk dlx is supposed to be good.. what I can tell you is, my hawk has been an awesome and reliable bike for 3600 miles. 99% of what Iv done to the bike has all been basic maintenance. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
nice, I want to get one of these new sub
Burn your clutch up. Then do a video using honda clutch parts.
I’m practically asking to burn my clutch, I am slipping and riding the clutch quite often. So far 7,000 miles and I’m on the stock clutches with no sign of failure yet. That would be a great video, I will keep that in mind. Thanks for watching!
Nice!
Thanks!
Mikuni STYLE carberator = some parts do not interchange. swap to a Mikuni or do a Holley
4-barrel trik if u r aftr a bigr pilot jet...oversize the pilot jet orifice yourself by drilling it. Tho,
the idle set screw duz a lot, you would be tampering with that circuit.
You convinced me not to buy one
It happens.
Man how much are you getting paid to make excuses for these total pieces of ish a brand new bike or one that is a year or two old you don't need to check if the wiring water proofing the connection lines a quality built bike they did it right at the factory I have a hawk 250 & I rode the hell out of it there's something wrong with the frame angles how its put together or something when going through rhythm sections its squirrelly the shocks front & back bottom completely out if your not prepared for how to right yourself in motion preventing crashing your going to get bucked off that thing like a bull
