While humans learn art through visuospatial means, these AIs "artificially" learn to create predictions of the visual data. Since artistry is more than purely visual and rather requires spatial and mechanical skill it is clear that the AI is reproducing images of content from mediums it has no mathematical understanding of. Terms like "train" and "learn" are therefore moot adages for what it means to actually learn how to make art and as such the AIs do not "learn" artistic process and are not creating art but rather assimilating it. This is nothing like how most artists learn, as artists learn by understanding subjects through artistic foundations with a mind-body barrier involving labour; while AI has no such barriers and relies on existent works that AI users have no right to use any more than the content pirated via BitTorrent, etc. * Basic instruction test - the AIs cannot understand basic visuospatial instructions, for example "square perfectly adjacent left of an equally proportioned circle, a line striking through the centre". This is because it relies on the interpolation of images tagged as such in the network and uses text-image coupling and not real semantics. It will only produce from the tags and has no understanding of the logic a draftsman can take into consideration. AIs have no sense of gestalt psychology outside of hard-coded algorithms, separate to the so-called "artificial" ability to produce knockoff infringing derivative images through diffusion. * Style vs design test - the AI cannot tell style from design, while style refers to the use of certain elements and limits of a medium (e.g. creative rules); design refers to protected elements of design in a piece.
