  • I bet you didn't know that Laos has a high speed train network, but yes they do! Built and operated by a Chinese company that takes security more serious than an American airport, this option makes what would be a multi hour journey on a crowded bus into a just under an hour comfortable train ride!
Join us as we take the Laos - China Railway from Vientiane to Vang Vieng!

Laos-China Railway, most of the routes that go there are entirely tunnels Excessive speed may be a restriction

I think the ban on aerosol cans could have something to do with all the tunnels you're going through in Laos.

LCR copy almost all rules from China railway. Last time I have to mail my kitchen knife back home before taking trains. Nail polish is also highly flammable perhaps

Hahaha that's one way to do it I guess! And yeah, just a bit funny since it was no problem on the first train 🤷‍♂️

Heh. Have to love going through security in some of these Asian countries. Like you, I had a small pair of scissors with 1 cm blades taken on two different occasions. Another time they wouldn't let me keep my little Sonos speaker in checked luggage because of the batteries. Return flight for they wouldn't let me have it in carry-on, and had to put it in checked.

Hahahaha, yeah it's really up to the security agent working at the time what is allowed or not 😂

    I HAD MY MACHETE CONFISCATED...
I needed it to go Jungle Hiking around Luang Prabang. I am the most harmless person in the world. The railway security is Ridiculous!
