Thanks @Bernardgrubb Yes, maybe the camera angle? Anyway, for sure I’m always careful. It can’t be said enough that the table saw is probably the most dangerous tool in any shop, so thanks. The drum sander is here: stockroomsupply.com/collections/flatmasters-and-diy-drum-kits/products/flatmaster-drum-sander Mine is the 24”, and you do have to purchase the motor separately. I bought mine from them. The things I like about it are that you’re not restricted in the thickness of material, the sandpaper doesn’t get gummed up, and the sawdust is efficiently sucked down and out. Also, you can sand boards boards as short as 4” no problem. They also sell the fence you see in my video, as well as feather wheels that attach to the fence and hold down the board so you can run longer material. A bit more versatile than standard belt drive drum sanders IMHO.
Perhaps it's the camera angle but you are getting your forearm dangerously close to that table saw blade...please be careful. I'm not the safety police but I do work in a hospital. Table saw injuries are always severe. To change the subject a bit, I too would love to know where you got that drum sander. Did you make it yourself? Finally, that is a great project and you did a wonderful job...Take care.
