I am proud to visit Stanford as a layman on 11/27/2020.

Very respectful and decent human being but the story is proven to be fake. Stanford opened university in his son's name when he died at age of 15 years due to fever. But a nice story to inspire people.
What he is telling could be completely implausible. Stanford Sr was a senator and a rail road magnate and known through out US at that time around 1885. The future president Hoover was his personal friend. At best this is a chicken soup story. Let it not be flaunted as a real incidence.
