You both looked so happy at the xmas market :) scared me to death on the roof tho lol Gosh Karen youve got a right job on with all that clearing out still. The mattresses would be great for a rescue center :) Hope you got the power back on quickly. Take care. xxx
It was a lovely day out hon and good to relax for a while.. 😉 The roof wasn't as scary as it looked..I'm getting my confidence up for sorting the big house in the Spring..lol 😂 There's still a chunk of clearing our to do, yes..slowly but surely we'll get through it.. Karen says the mattresses are too heavy and can't be washed easily, or they probably would get donated to a rescue place.. Lilla power to the Rescue!! ⚡️😁👍 Love and big hugs to you.. Take care 🙏❤️ xxx
Happy anniversary from me!🤗 About the traditional clothes you found - if you don't want to keep them, please donate them to an Ethnographic Museum so they can preserve them for future generations. So much of this legacy has been lost over the years, and it's sad - hopefully, the clothes you found can serve an even bigger purpose in a display at a museum. ❤
Hi and thank you so much 🥰 Just after the New Year, Karen went to see the blessing of a village spring and afterwards showed a lot of traditional clothes to our neighbours..they took most pieces that were in good condition and the daughter has passed a lot to a museum..I think in Burgas, although I could be wrong on the location. We didn't want to see them going to waste. They're too beautiful for staying in a clothes box.. Thank you for that though, that's very much appreciated 😊❤️ take care 🙏
I have been in Bulgaria for 10 years plus. im no good at social media, but you smash it. you are the first channel i ever found worthy of subscribing to. I remember the first year i came here, there was no youtube or internet for me to learn from. but im glad its easier now, it brings people like yourselves to relish in Bulgaria. love to meet you both. my place is near Varna
Thank you so much Suzanne! No pressure then.. 😉 So very glad you're enjoying the vlogs. We are loving it here in Bulgaria 😊 Its so beautiful and we've still got so much of her to see. I'm not sure if you've watched any of our travels videos, but one of our favourite Bulgarian beaches is just South of Varna. We spent a very relaxed Christmas 2023 there, although the last time we visited it had a few caravans parked amongst our usual parking spot..things change I guess..lol 🤷🏻♂️ Take care 🙏
Life in a Bulgarian village... Always have extra food, water and firewood. Power outages are fairly common. I remember having to sort through our house when we bought it. We found a few treasures that we kept but donated the rest. Wish I could have gone through the linens with you. I love old linens. Stay warm!
Exactly, yes..we have some water bottles stored in case and if all else failed, we could easily retreat to Lilla..she has all the facilities we need 😉 We've donated a lot of traditional clothes to locals and also to a museum, which is brilliant, but there are some things which have been kept. Take care and stay warm too! 😊🙏
Wonderful video Both. So much going on. Love the traditional markets. So much fabulous stuff. Great to see Oliver being as outspoken as he normally is haha bless. Take Care and Keep Loving the Lifestyle Both. Love and Big Hugs 💙😻💜
Thank you so much Asa..the market was a lovely break from being busy, especially at that time of year. Oliver is ALWAYS very opinionated..lol 😹 Safe travels to you! Love and Big Hugs! 💜😻💙
Love watching youse two ,such grafters and doing great work ,would have like to see youse trying some great Bulgarian food on your day out we've owned a small place in Rogachevo for 18 yrs and love this amazing county and people ❤
Thank you Graeme, that's very much appreciated 🙏 We've tried some Bulgarian foods at a cafe a few miles away, but Karen struggles to find something that she can eat, due to being a strict veggie and a picky one at that. We've found Banitsa there and she's been shown how to make it by a neighbour, so she can now make our own with different variations. We're loving Bulgaria ❤️🇧🇬 and can't wait to explore some more. Take care 🙏
Another great video of the progress you're making. Is it normal for Bulgarians to leave alot of posessions in their property when they sell them, thats alot of stuff to sort out, hope you find some lovely things you can use. Take care and thanks for sharing your adventure with us 😊
Thank you Jenny 😊 I guess a lot of properties have belongings left, yes..I think it's either because there's no relatives or because they have no interest in coming to clear the properties out 🤷🏻♂️ We've kept some things, yes 👍 There were a lot of traditional clothes which have gone to local people and also to a museum for their exhibits, so we're very pleased that those things are being cared for 🥰 We still have parts of the property which we haven't even touched, so there might be more things of interest 😁 Thanks again and take care 🙏
Belated Congrats on your anniversary guys,,i hope karen bought that purple trapper hat from VT,,, Phil have you ever thought of the rocket mass heater uses a 3rd of wood and mostly kindling,,by far my favorite channel, keep it up guys, Scott👍👍
Hi Scott and thank you, that's appreciated 😊 Karen decided against buying the hat, down to having a whole heap of hats and only one head, which is unfortunate in anyone's books..lol I've been looking at the rocket mass heaters after watching a video on how the Amish stay warm..very interesting ideas from that 😉 we'll see if anything comes from that 😁👍 take care won't you 🙏
Love watching your RUclips channel, you're very hard grafters and your home is really starting to take shape now. I can't help but notice your Yorkshire accents and as we are from pontefract in west Yorkshire, hubby and I was curious as to which part of Yorkshire you originate from.
I grew up in Knottingley! Now live in SE Bulgaria. What's Pontey like nowadays? I reckon these two are from a little north of Yorkshire...Middlesbrough/Sunderland/Newcastle way? It's becoming my favourite channel.
@@violetinferno3592 I thought you were from Leeds because I detected a slight Leeds accent. Are you planning on getting any chickens or livestock further down the line?
Thank you Julia 🙏 I've thought about solar as it's simple to set up, but the expense is beyond us right now, I'm afraid. Panels aren't expensive, but the battery cost for a good amount of storage is where we'd be hit hardest. We'll see if we can set a small system up in the future, but in the meantime, Lilla is our power option 😉👍
Congrates, bit late... But we didnt know. There is another room next to the bathroom isnt there (wherw you stacked the wood). Wood fires burn through wood very quickly.
