The game drives are the best and the fact that the tour guides have information about the place that is good, the fact that we around the animals and we can learn about them is fun. The game reserve place to sleep is amazing
We enjoyed our stay at Umkumbe & were very well looked after by all of the staff there. It is a small traverse but being Sabi Sand it is rich in game. Overall it was very good value for money. I'd recommend staying for 1-2 nights as part of a combination with another of the camps nearby.
if u truely wanna see the big 5 then i reccomend Kruger itself and surrounding lodges.all the lodges in sabi sands and timbavati are great for big 5 viewing
good work david. I am an IGCSE Geography teacher and love your work .have never used my passport i just teach most of the areas virtually. would love to travel one day
What about Rra Ditau lodge ? Directly across the road from Marakele National Park , not too far from Marakele Predator Park ( white lions etc ) , excellent accommodations ( both standard or self catering ) , bar , restaurant, swimming pool and brai area along with pleasant staff on site . It certainly can't be that bad if Richard Hammond ( top gear ) chose to stay there can it ?
Seems like you've been to some pretty remote places you should compile a list and make a video of the top most remote spots to visit/hike very hard to find a good list of spots without people
Actually there are millionaires and billionaires in some African countries believe it or not. Don’t believe what you see or hear about Africa and Africans living in poverty. Africa has more natural resources than any continent in the world. Do some research before assuming things.
WARNING Umkumbe is one of the worst lodges in South Africa, bad food, bad accommodation and bad guides. I have stayed there and approx another 20 lodges around Kruger.
Maxwell Smart_086 - Oooops, pared wrong button too soon. Walking Safaris for 12 + yrs with armed and unarmed Guides. Had adrenaline rushes but never felt threatened and we have encountered most things - big and small. The aim is to see, not challenge, so one avoids confrontation by giving them (all) right of way etc. Builds a much better understanding of natures anis less harmful to their environment. I urge you to try it for yourself and then judge us. Bon Voyage
W1ll P0w3R - Done more than 30 Walks in the Bush with armed and unarmed Guides. Never had a scenario where a gun was ever raised / aimed. Most animals avoid you, or you them - they have right of way . Your aim is to see them, not challenge, so confrontation is avoided - principal reasons why one takes an experienced Guide. I urge you to try it and see for yourself, then decide.

We want to give people a real Africa experience - I wonder what percentage of Africans have a pool, gym and AC, just for starters..... ?
None!, probably reverse slavery can bring things such as those to their doorstep don’t you think?

Probably less than 1%.

Don’t understand the point of the “bush walk” where if a predator defends its territory it would have to be shot and killed by the ranger. Ah humans
Maxwell Smart_086 - Be careful, your ignorance is showing or is it jealousy. Powerful emotions. Been doing Walking Safaring
