I failed my midterm exams (before watching this Video). Scored full marks in my Final exams (After watching this Video). __Full Marks (Dependent Variable). __Watching this Video (Independent Variable). Thank you so much.
This was by far the best video on explaining experimental groups (IV/DV groups). I was able to correctly answer all of the examples at the end of the video. Great work!
I finally understand the dependent variable. Its always confused me. But your mention of it as the data we collect has made it easy for me. Am in my mid forties and just went vack to school. Thanks and stay blessed.
Sara Gold It sounds like from your first statement that the independent variable is the "type of flower" and the dependent variable is the "how long it lasts." One problem is how do you determine how long it has lasted? What are you looking for? Are you looking to see which flower loses 100% of its petals?
At first, I did not understand the independent variable and Dependent variable, but after watching the RUclips video on these scientific Topic, It helps me know how to answer questions about these topics., and I say many thanks to my Teacher and Instructor on the video for making it possible for me to do my work.
I dont know why I could understand this for the longest but this video made it so simple, I couldnt believe I didnt get this before. Thank you very much for this thorough learning lesson.
Thanks so much! I'm homeschooled and have to read about this but I'm a visual and auditory learner so this really helped me understand and thanks for going over it multiple times that really helped me be confident that I know what I'm doing.
I found this short video to be great! I have a great understanding of Independent and Dependent Variables by watching the video, I encourage all students to watch this video if there is doubt about the difference!
I have struggled with understanding the difference between independent and dependent variable for a long time. Thank you for making it so easy to understand! :)
I'm a first year Psych major and I've had trouble grasping this concept but this video helped tremendously! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it :)
thank thank youOMG GREAT teacher i would call you my teacher i totally understood it very very well i swear im spending 1500$ to my school but you just explained better then my teacher 1000x times thanks god bless you.
Thank you for sharing this! Our seventh-grade science teacher sent this video along to us as supplementary study material on the nature of science. I was very impressed. Thanks. :)
One of the experiment was conducted to compare between traditional basin bed bath to the disposable bed bath while taking the following four factors into consideration : 1. duration and quality of the bath, 2) cost ,3) nurse satisfaction 4) patient satisfaction. The experiment was conducted random ally selected sample of 54 number for patients (cognitive bed ridden patents and 6 nurses were used to assist those patents)by by using randomised control trail or cross over design. Q. What are the dependent and independent variable in this research?
Thank god for this video. I was really confused about the differences betwwen Independent and Dependent variables. This will definitely help me with my Biology test! Thanks a lot!
Love this.., I actually needed a small review of independent and dependent variables for my MSW class empirical research. Helped out tremendously, thanks.
How about this? IV: appearance, mood and social acceptability DV: smoking is acceptable. I somehow can't create a conceptual model by combining my variables Appearance: if a person is attractive and smoking, people tend to see smoking as acceptable Mood: if you are stressed and smoke, people tend to see smoking acceptable Social acceptability: those who smoke are associate with success and popularity, people tend to see smoking acceptable.
EXAMPLE: Milking cows are tested that if they listen to classical music, their amount of milks get more than the other cows who are listening to rock music, the result is that milking cows' amount of milks get more if they are listening to classical music instead of those who have listened to the rock music. Independent V: The music Dependent V: Amount of milk the milking cow gives
This was very helpful and completely fixed my understanding of DV and IV if i had seen this before it would have helped much better on my quiz on this :)
my daughters teacher asked her to change the question for her science project experiment. It was, which flowers last longer, regular flowers or colored flowers? she said she wasn't naming the independent variable and the dependant variable.
Very good and useful video! And thank you for your work on this, and all of your videos. Now that I have found your videos, I will be working some of them into my lessons. However, if this is to be used for educational purposes, you need to be mindful of grammatical errors as well. Your question of "How does music EFFECT sleep?" is incorrectly worded. One of the more common grammatical errors in our language is "effect vs affect". Effect is a noun meaning outcome, consequence, or appearance. To affect is a verb meaning to transform or to change. ie. "What is the effect of music on sleep?" or your question "How does music AFFECT sleep? They won't learn it correctly if we don't use it correctly. I know it's a science lesson, and not English, but the point still remains. Thanks again!
BlackWaterRevival I've made over 100 videos. I'm sure there are more grammatical errors in other videos. I try my best to be as flawless as possible, but sometimes errors get past my screening. But thank you for the support. Best wishes to you.
I failed my midterm exams (before watching this Video).

Man this is an overly underrated comment! Cool! Here is ur 2nd like!

I finally understand the dependent variable. Its always confused me. But your mention of it as the data we collect has made it easy for me. Am in my mid forties and just went vack to school. Thanks and stay blessed.
Mid forties... the kids now-a-days would officially call you "old school". Keep up the good work. Best wishes to you.

How about this?
IV: appearance, mood and social acceptability
DV: smoking is acceptable.
I somehow can't create a conceptual model by combining my variables
Appearance: if a person is attractive and smoking, people tend to see smoking as acceptable
