    For closure: He's actually not upset about her not being pregnant. Shortly after this they break up because he's like 40 and already has a kid that's 20, she's much younger in her 30's and has always dreamed of having a family which to him he feels too old to start all over again. So they break up because they don't have the same goals.

    • @julesking1303
      @julesking1303 Месяц назад +25

      I don’t know if the behavior would be inherited if the bio dad stays out of the kid’s life. If she gets into a relationship with someone who is kind and caring and wants to be an involved parent, that kid could probably be raised in a good environment and be emotionally stable. That seems like it could happen, given that it seems like the mom had a restraining order based on what she said.
      Hopefully the mom in this case has been through some therapy and knows that she shouldn’t seek out people with red flag behavior like the father of her child. It’s unfortunately very common for people to get involved with those who share similar traits to the people who abused them. But the fact that she was at a meeting like this, surrounded by women who saw what she went through, and was comfortable enough with asking that question in the first place?
      I have hope that she would’ve turned out okay.

    So if one or both parent's are its always a 50/50 chance, now this has a lot to do with environment of the child growing up, is the person sober now etc, but yeah I was always told it doesn't increase with 2 but its still 50/50 odds with 1. Now this doesn't mean the baby will have birth defects or anything like that but if they should ever also get addicted those are the odds usually.

    • @gwenndolyncampbell1560
      @gwenndolyncampbell1560 Месяц назад +10

      My understanding is that there are genetic predispositions associated with addictions, i.e. some people are more likely to become easily addicted when consuming certain addictive substances than other people would. But, that gene or genes would pass down to the child whether or not the parent had ever actually taken drugs. There's also the study of epigenetics, which is a newer field that explores the way life events can potentially alter gene expression and the way genes are passed down to offspring, but any studies looking towards that relationship, in regards to substance abuse and outcomes, are still very young.

For me i was the black sheep it was totally new to my family and random but i also grew up with depression issues and etc so i think that's why they probably say it's 50/50, i know people with both were addicted and the kids never ever would and then i know someone totally sober and the other never addicted but the kid fell into the same type of steps as addiction, so that's why i think with life it'll always be 50/50 just from personal own human experiences but yeah i just know from what i was personally apart of and have heard yes the dna goes into a baby but it doesn't always mean because u had a hard time that ur baby is going too.

In my case no one had issues, not my siblings or parents but i had depression issues that lead to it in my case but then i know people with both parents having issues and then their kids had no issues so i think that's why they feel safe saying 50/50 because its really on that humans experience and environment. 1. May not be immediately shown /expressive on the child, sometimes it will shown in later age...like the chain chemical in brain pattern could tend to follow in the parent's tho not much clinical reseaech done but i believe it's highly possible
    2. Bad parenting if the mother stays
    3. Epigenetic is a thing if one of the parent have bad lifrstyle the genetic that passed down could potentially changes into unfavorable side...but ofc not yet enough clinical research to 100% determine it, but better not risked it.

      generally its if both parents are using or if the partner is consistentally exposing drugs around her ergo smoke or such but you also have to factor in gestation period as well and if it is ongoing. Hence why there is a major debate on pregnant women drinking as depending on many factors it can cause either no problems or a shit load.

    If one of the parents is under the influence during conceiving or producing sperm/egg, there are chances of mutation in the cell division process: instead of 23/23, cell/cells may divide, for example, 24/22. In cases like these, if the sperm/egg with a mutation is fertilized, the baby may be born with genetic mutations (e.g. down syndrome, or any other syndrome of atypical chromosome count). Drugs may cause other serious conditions and illnesses as well. Addiction affects babies. Or you may be lucky and dodge a bullet.
