Bridges in Ticino destroyed by massive volume of water during weekend storms

The situation in Ticino remains tense following the storms at the weekend. Early Monday morning, the authorities warned of further flooding in the Maggia Valley and the Lavizzara Valley.
The masses of water in the Maggia destroyed the Visletto bridge in Cevio, which is important for the town. The Swiss army is now investigating how it could build a temporary road bridge to reconnect the upper Maggia Valley with the lower one. There is still no electricity or clean drinking water in the area around Cevio and in the Lavizzara Valley.
