This Nine team rode for each other, got punched around and built the foundation for the team we have today. Every one of these dudes that might not be in the roster rn played a big role.
Damn this game was so exciting. The big plays on both ends of the ball all happened in a blink of an eye. The 49ers never disappoint...no matter who is on the squad. They always have exciting games.
Even in their recent losing seasons they lost most of those games by only a few points. One of the best losing teams - always played with spirit, never giving up.

Hoyer throws 50-yard bomb: *100% caught, even some toe-drag swag* Hoyer throws a check-down 4 feet in front of the line of scrimmage: Receiver: *Sorry, I left my hands on the kitchen table last night, I forgot to bring them to work this morning*
Hoyer threw some bad passes, but not very many. His game stats are misleading. There were at least 4 very good passes that were dropped. But the main 2 problems with this 49er performance was no pass rush, no pressure on Goff and WAY too many dumb penalties - DPI's, OPI, hands to the face, false starts, holding - just constant dumb plays.
Weird seeing this game, and seeing how many players are gone. Also hearing Raheem mostert being referred to as the 3rd string running back lol and finally, I TOTALLY forgot we had hoyer as qb lmao
I think he's good. He just didn't see the touches he was getting in 17,18. He's gonna have a good season with the Falcons. Draft him fourth round ppr in fantasy.
Kyle Lowrey watching him last year was sad. He ain’t the same player. His burst and explosiveness is all but gone and it looks like he’s hesitant when reading zone holes. It’s sad but I think his time as an elite back is over
Chicken Nugger Yeah, especially the fact that he has arthritis, and at 25 Too! Rams hopefully pay respect to him by retiring his jersey because he was truly amazing before he screwed up his knees.

I was in Santa Clara that night because my sister played soccer for UC Irvine vs Santa Clara U. Ironically enough the Rams training camp is at UCI and of course the 49ers play in Santa Clara.
All these comments are wrong. Hoyer would've performed much better on the 2019 squad with the better pass protection, more & better receiving hands and better play calling, and with better running game and better defense supporting him. It would've been his best year and best stats. He may possibly have made it to the SB. But JimmyG is still better and was our better chance. Hoyer was underrated, but still not as good as JimmyG. I loved those two lovely Hoyer bombs to Pierre Garcon in this 2017 game - gutsy, both right on the money. The first one shocked me. The second one even more; 2 great bombs in 1 game?? Too bad about Garcon - out with neck injury the 2nd half of 2017, then out after knee surgery late in the 2018 season, then '9ers declined his contract option in 2019, releasing him as a free agent. No one picked him up it seems. Maybe he's smart and retired young, wealthy and healthy (relatively, compared to a full NFL career). You saw his stats as a leader in lowest drops per catches, tying Emmanuel Sanders at 1 out of 80. Imagine having two great hands-leading receivers, Sanders and Garcon on the team. I have greedy fantasies.
This was the ONLY Thursday night game that i didn't watch this year, i went bowling instead. I felt like i missed out. At least i watched it now, it was like a new game, i couldn't even remember who won by 2.

It’s cool to see both teams wearing alternate uniforms. I never understood why the away team pretty much has to wear white. Let’s say the Bengals are playing the Colts. The Bengals have black and orange jerseys, the Colts have blue and white jerseys. There is no clash there whatsoever and you can easily tell the teams apart. There’s no reason either team needs specifically white away jersey.
All teams have light uniforms as visitors and dark uniforms for home, by tradition. Light doesn't necessarily have to be white, as you could see here with the Rams in all yellow. All teams have white as a team color - it's the one color all teams have in common, just for away games. This game here was special, where they agreed to use thowback uniforms from earlier years, and in that case the home team needs to agree to any non-white, but still light, color scheme.
