Beautiful ! I love when we enter the forest at 06:30 ! So warm feeling ! All the layout is amazing. But the numerous footage of forest impress me the most, and the view of the canyon below is awesome at 16:45. Thanks to share this video.
The original Zephyr was built for the CB&Q in 1934. The Maine Central/Boston & Maine Flying Yankee train is a near clone of the Zephyr, and was delivered to the railroad in 1935. It ran in revenue service until 1957. The Flying Yankee you see on my layout is a brass model from Challenger Models, made about 1993. Con Cor has made a plastic model of the Zephyr, which could possibly masquerade as a Flying Yankee, and may be more readily available today. There was also a another brass Flying Yankee imported by N.J. International, if I remember correctly, in the 1980's, I think. Either of the brass models would be hard to find today, and I would expect the N.J. model to be a bit of a clunker from a mechanical standpoint.
Thanks, Austin! The backdrops are printed in 13" x 19" sections on a Canon Pro-100 printer. Images are from digital photos I have taken in the appropriate area, some scanned from slides shot in the pre-digital days.
great video! i just inherited a ton really nicely custom painted boston and maine locomotives and i’m trying to figure out what coaches to get for them.. Have you seen the con-cor p54 ones? i dont know much about the b&m
Good question. I know they are models of a Long Island RR prototype, and by extrapolation, probably similar to PRR cars. I don't know if any ex-Pennsy or LIRR cars went to the B&M, but would not be surprised.

Outstanding modeling and video production. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the video footage and the absence of ceiling and walls in-frame. If I might ask, what brand of camera was used as its lens appears to be less wide-angle than many. Thank you.
Cameras are a couple of GoPro's, a Hero Session 5, and an older Hero 2015. I also use my Samsung Galaxy S-9. On rare occasions, an old Canon HF-100 camcorder is pressed into service. I don't use the "Wide" options in the GoPro's, and also do some cropping in Cyberlink Power Director.
@@HappyHoboTrains Thank you for your prompt and thorough answer. I've been seeking the high-level videography you have achieved and knew that equipment selection, technique, and post-production would all likely be involved. Your response is greatly appreciated.
@@jayqualman9164 I'm new at this model railroad videography, so appreciate the comments and hope that I can continue to improve. Trust me. There is no expensive or exotic equipment involved!

Is that the Zephyr I see, that's one of my favorite retro train designs. I still really want one of those to display until I get my layout built.

Wilmer's live streams are great! We love his shout outs! The name is carried over from our Hobby Shop we had in Tampa Fl from 1973 to the early 2000s.
Great vid!!! What is the scale length of the Portland Station platform? (It appears that it could accomodate four heavyweights or so.)
You are pretty close in your estimate, as it is an actual 4' long, or 348 scale feet. The train shed is 150 scale feet. Thanks for watching!

We’re those FP 7’s couldn’t remember?
The Maine Central units were F3's. The models are from Stewart, painted by me more than 25 years ago.
