    These words all sound very similar. In fact, it is only the first sound in each word that is different!
    I also compare "bird" and "beard".

    Hi Max,
    Thanks for the lesson.
    Your intro in the very first seconds of the video was great as I just wanted to kindly ask you, may you please do lessons for other topics on grammar, especially advanced, expressions and idioms for different situations? But thanks for you. You are pretty smart and knew this demand ☺.
    Lots of thanks Max,
    Regards,
    Ahmad,

      Yes, my next video is on an intermediate/advanced grammar point 😉. There are lots of videos I want to do, but they take longer to make than many people might think...
      Thanks again!

    I appreciate your pronunciation videos very much, because they are really helpful. And i dont mind if the videos are not so long, maybe i preferet it that way because its easier to focus on short videos. And btw, i dont have this CC-Button. My button for subtitles looks more like a little credit card.

      And thanks - that's a great way to describe what that button looks like! I might say it in my next video ;).

    Thank you for your efforts I like your way to pronounce voice R.
    I have a question how can pronounce rr in words like current, irrelevant and serrated?

    • @EnglishwithMax
      @EnglishwithMax  6 лет назад +1

      Good question! It's the same way as I pronounced "r" in the video. In the words you mentioned, it's basically the same in British and American pronunciation. The only thing that would change is how the vowels are pronounced.

    Excellent, as usual.
    I would stress the difference in pronunciation between "word" and "ward".
    Some of my students find it difficult to distinguish between them.
    Best Regards,
    Meni Porat

    • @EnglishwithMax
      @EnglishwithMax  6 лет назад

      That's a good point! I'll try to include that if it comes up again.

      You're welcome, Max.
      The similarity in pronunciation between "word" and "ward" is greater than the one between "bird" and "beard".
      In fact, the "word"/"ward" difference in pronunuciation is very similar to "worm"/"warm".

    What is the difference between intend to do and expect to do something?

    • @EnglishwithMax
      @EnglishwithMax  6 лет назад

      "Intend to do" means "to plan to do". "Expect to do" means you think you will do that (you believe something is going to happen).

    Aaaaaah...the warmth of summer. I remember what that feels like. Well, I sort of remember. It was -19C here the other day. Could I possibly interest you in a trade?

      Haha, I think I'll keep the heat! One of the reasons I came back to Australia was to get away from the cold 😉.

      It hasn't been that brutally cold here in probably a decade but it was worth it. It gave me the opportunity to photograph some snowflakes and frost formations that were rather dazzling. =)
