BROMELIADS: Aechmea rubens

I came across this Aechmea bromeliad at the Jardin Botanico Nacional in Havana, Cuba. Like all bromeliads, Aechmea species are easy to maintain. Offer a humid environment, spray regularly if you have plants in a dry environment, and give them bright light. Remember though that some of them will grow much larger than your average house plants, and would thrive better outdoors.
