I'm not that huge into the whole FNF game or fandom, but I checked this out on a whim and have to say that I'm loving the sprite work on this. Both Sonic and Mario's half of the screen are done great in their respective styles, with proper sprite work in what seems to be the correct pixel proportions (some minor zooming/stretching aside). Fantastic job.
I LOVE how Mario and sonic has they're part of the stage decorated with they're own game props, like the fire flower on Marios side and the extra life monitor/box on sonics side. I also love how sonic just laughs when Mario losses it.

Mario was extremely expressive too despite him having any facial features, hell, even Tails and Luigi have awesome facial expressions! Honestly, we can just compare the two on a scale of their games. Sonics games include really good graphics, like actually, decent story, but not too good gameplay. Mario's games have decent graphics, often C+P story (not including spinoff/crossover games), and decent gameplay. In terms of Graphics and Story, Sonic succeeds in this case, but in Gameplay terms, Mario would succeed. *kirby on the other hand...*

Honestly, we can just compare the two on a scale of their games.
Sonics games include really good graphics, like actually, decent story, but not too good gameplay.
Mario's games have decent graphics, often C+P story (not including spinoff/crossover games), and decent gameplay.
In terms of Graphics and Story, Sonic succeeds in this case, but in Gameplay terms, Mario would succeed.

id like to give mario some benefit of doubt here, bcuz he was able to constantly squeeze the note block to get the tunes out which takes more strength and patience (as u see on his sprites) unlike sonic's guitar which is probably why he got even more pissed as he struggled to keep up LOL
and he also ..absolutely demolished that note block afterwards
