Poison The Well one of the best and most underrated or rather overlooked bands I've ever seen (and heard!) The 'You Come Before You' which features their two tracks here is simply phenomenal, one of the greatest collections of songs my ears have ever heard, one of those records that just flows from start to finish grabs your undivided attention and when it's over leaves you in awe. Deftones say no more, at least they get their well deserved dues.
I agree. Though they were not really overlooked back in the day imo, they were one of the best 'first' post-hardcore bands. I fucking love "You come before you"
TrephineArtist PTW are an amazing band for sure and with the Deftones it's a four track masterpiece. Can you please upload You Come Before You for me, I lost it in a move and really want to listen to it badly. I tried getting all the tracks but they are not all on you tube somehow.
Deftones is not as mainstream as the get chunked with. They have denied Korn multiple times of tour invites. Like "yo dudes we love yall and everything but don't want to tour with you anymore; how are your families" they have been known to tour with awesome up and coming and or misically beautiful melodic bands. Hoping for Deftones/Hopesfall fall tour 2018
I wish I went to this tour. Deftones and PTW. Deftones are such an awesome well respected band that they blend into whatever genre so it all sounds great together. They toured with several screamo/punk/emo/indie/metal/nu-metal bands.
Two of my favorite bands, who I thought were on completely opposite sides of the "hard rock" spectrum, on one ep... I dunno how I didn't know about this split until 2018... now here I am trying to find a physical copy of it at 4am
BucketsAMF There's a definite Deftones influence in a lot of their softer melodies and clean vocal parts. Botchla is a perfect example, the middle section sounds like Deftones through and through.
Bane...now you guys are pulling at my heartstrings. I loved their semi side project Silent Drive. Wish the second LP with "Mexican Standoff" came to fruition. That whole core (no pun intended) of bands was pretty much the epitome of the "hellfest" scene.
+Bakutakamine PTW toured with Deftones around this time. So did Thrice and Thursday. Deftones always bring out awesome bands on tour with them. Code Orange is going to open for them this coming May on tour.
J Lansdale pretty sure this was released as a promo cd? For the tour they did together. Sony saw it as an opportunity to showcase maverick & atlantic records. Derek hess did the cover art which is the only reason i discovered it at the time . I could be wrong about some of the details (it was a long time ago) but pretty sure it happened just not as an actual release.
ok but it's promotional only, then. it's stuff from previous albums from both bands. they didn't write music specifically for a split release. it's not listed anywhere in any official capacity, anyway, so it's very likely that it never even happened. i wouldn't be surprised if they know each other, but this almost certainly never happened. too different in terms of the behind-the-scenes shit, i think.

Grew up with both these awesome bands. Never even know they knew each other..

Hopesfall as in no wings to speak of (incredible!). Not a fan after the satellite years (that was also a pretty good album)
I can hear similar elements in both band’s music. I love both. Two of my favorite bands!

Split muito foda.
They did a split together? weird
+Bakutakamine I find it really weird I never heard of this before. Deftones and Poison The Well were two of my favorite bands at that time.
+Jorge Rialvo Chino did vocals on "Will to Die" and did a lot of touring back in the day with Far, Strife, PTW, etc etc etc
+Gunnar Cortes me too..

Anyone know where that sound clip at the beginning is from?
Its the beginning of "when girls telephone boys", but I don't know where they got the sound clip from. My guess is that Deftones made it themselves
Ik the deftones songs aren't new material. Not sure about Poison the Well.... I never dug their newer stuff after Opposite of December.
Those songe were off you come before you. Awesome

Not fake. I used to have it.

I've been a huge Deftones fan since the early 90's and I never knew this existed. So this is a nice surprise.
It's legit. Check Discogs
