Mario Kart DS - Credits Scene with Freecam

- Very random video, but Mario Kart DS was the first ever game I modded, and I was active in its modding community for several years before moving to Mario Kart 7. I remember going through the game's files and seeing the track used by the game for the credits sequence, and today I wondered how it actually looked like from other camera angles, so I used the free camera feature in DesMuMe to take a look. :P
In the left side you can see the top screen with the free camera I'm controlling, while on the right side you can see the original sequence, for reference. Sorry for all the shakiness of the free camera, but it's a bit difficult to control, and the fact that the X direction is inverted due to mirror mode make it even more difficult lol.
As you can see in the video, the credits sequence is just a giant loop. Sadly, the karts disappear as soon as the leave the intended screen boundaries. I have no idea if it's the game moving the players around, or there is a check that makes them invisible when leaving the screen. If that's the case, it would be interesting to disable that check and see how the karts actually move. It's also interesting how the karts move in depth, which is difficult to see in real hardware without the increased screen resolution.

@@PITA27 One of my favorite Mario Kart credits theme because of the conclusive yet emotional ending song and just nostalgia of the good days and MKDS as a whole.
Every time I see this, I imagine the characters going home after a big race day. Seeing the credits in this game brings me to tears of happiness. I MISS THE EARLY 2000’s!

I don't like how mario kart games have less custom content for grand prix ceremonies, credits etc. Even in mkwii, the camera just flies around a few courses from the game in the credits, and in mk8 it just plays a few highlights

its that the one i can play on has no textures and the road is very hard to stay on as its a lot smaller than the actual area around the player
