Equipment Review: RedMax BCZ260TS Trimmer

- Опубликовано: 8 фев 2025
- In this video we cover our RedMax trimmer of choice, the BCZ260TS. I have used a half dozen trimmers over the years, and I think this is quite possibly the best value and best performing trimmer we've ever purchased. The power and torque with this model is amazing, and it literally slices through anything. I've used other brands before, but I am extremely happy with what RedMax has done with this line of commercial trimmers.

Been using Red Max since '96 I think Awesome
Great video I love these trimmers I brag about them to my other landboys but they'll never learn
Got a nice used one for $120 at a local pawnshop, so pumped to start using it.
Great trimmers! Awesome video review, greetings from Mexico.
I haven't found one video yet that step by step shows you how to start this thing up
I can try to make an updated video.
Red max are cool cause there lightweight but your rite you will go threw them in a year. I have a old shindowa from 2001 that I use and i love it. Everybody complains cause it's pretty heavy at about 14 pounds and that gets annoying after a twelve hour work day to them but it's the best.
KurruptGTR Spoolboii I have a S270 Shindaiwa and it's a beast
"threw them ". in a year?...how you used them?...i been using redmax for over 15 years and the last 3 i got I still working with them for the last 4 years ( an average of 12 residentials a day, 40 to 60 a week) no problems beside replacing carburetors sometimes
They look to be great trimmers.
+Something 2LookAt Thanks!
Thanks for the great video review.
Does the shaft separate into two pieces? That helps me with storage?
Not on these units sorry, they're dedicated units.
But they do make a split duty or combi style
@@jbstepchild The RedMax trimmer shaft does not separate into 2 pieces.
@@davidbrauner1916 o I'm sorry ur not in the loop with the maxtrene split boom but here let me help u out so u don't have to use the internet for anything but commenting
can you replace the head where you put the string? I like the old fashion metal than that plastic.
marjomjom Mine is a speed feed head but they come standard with the metal hard plastic head. I replace mine every time I get a new trimmer with a speed feed head.
Hello i have a New redmax i observe the motor sound too much acelerating contrary to oders trimmers redmax.
Recently i bought a bcz3060ts you ha:ve some recomendation?
Thanks.
I’m not sure the issue sorry. But I’d take it to your dealer if it’s having trouble
Mine has been to the shop twice in 8 weeks! Junk in my opinion but I haven’t gotten one good trimmer. I’ve bought five trimmers in 5 years
I love red max as now I have the redmax edger which is 2650s blower ebz8500 and a trimmer bcz 2650s like it so much
Solid set up man. I love my 260TS and 7500's. Will definitely be upgrading to the 8500's one day.
I am glad I bought my redmax ebz8500 side throttle. It is one powerful backpack blower. I use to own an older echo pbt 755 blower. It was no where near as powerful as the redmax ebz8500 blower.
we use these at my company. great product. always start first pull. nothing has broken yet. we use them and the blowers. has anyone Used the redmax chainsaws?
The redmax chainsaws are okay for occasional use. I use a climbing saw for most small trimming jobs. But if you're getting into serious wood, go with Stihl. Or you if use it a lot. One thing I can say about the redmax, it always starts right up even after sitting a couple months.
Brian, I'm solo but have 9 pieces of Stihl stick equipment. Great stuff but in my opinion the trimmers pretty much suck when starting. I'm thinking of getting a Redmax trimmer and selling the Stlhl's. Your thoughts comparatively? Also I see your tied in with Echo. I've had Echo in the past but they seemed a little home owner 'ish. Otherwise, I'd look at the 2620 line but not enough to plunk down the cash. Thanks, Cooke's Lawn Services.
goldtopsrock Hey bud. Good question. I've never used any Stihl trimmers. I know a lot of guys like their 90/94s. Can't give my opinion there.
Redmax 260TS is a great trimmer. I've ran those the last 5 years. They're a beast. Last spring ECHO sent me their 2620 ProXtreme. I like you had the same idea, homeowner ish. But then my 260rm broke down, and I had to use my 2620.
Telling you like a friend, I love my 2620. They're in my eyes exactly on the same level with performance. But you cannot argue the build quality of ECHO's engines. They're the best.
That being said, your call. We learned in Chicago all the Echo engines are the same. Whether at Home Depot or your dealer. It's the extras that make it a pro version. Little upgrades here and there.
If I was spending my own cash, I'd get another 2620. I'm digging the torque that it has. Very responsive. Blowers for me, Redmax. Hedge trimmer, echo. Stick trimmer, 2620. I used it all last season, never went back to my 260.
Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
How you like redmax? I alway looking at it to replace fs110r. Have you try bcz3060ts?
I love my Redmax. I haven't use the 3060 but I have used their 260ts. Love it. Just more power on that unit I believe.
Brian's Lawn Maintenance yeah very similar power as fs110r in hp. Tired of 4 mix sluggish and maintenance
Oh yea.
los mejores trimer
Is there any issue with Honda trimmers that nobody use them for commercial lawn care?
I didn't know Honda made a commercial trimmer?
But the 3060 man what a beast
I have a BCZ260S and want to put a speed feeder head on it. Any suggestions of which speed feeder to buy?
ECHO Speedfeed 400 usually is what I do.
What kind of trimmer line do you use that you can do 30 yards with
.95 Oregon line. The gray spool, the squared off end stuff. Works amazing. We definitely get a day out of the head with a full line, 25-30 lawns at least.
thank you
Hey Brian what do you do with your old weed eaters when you retire them would you be interested in selling them please let me know thank you
I just scrap them buddy sorry!
Where are the new ones made? I can’t really find a straight answer.
No clue sorry
where you get that
Most dealers should have it. Maybe your local Tractor Supply or Home Depot otherwise. The brand isn't as important, just make sure you get the correct diameter (.95) in most cases.
The BCZ2460ts is the older model, it uses a redmax engineered engine. It's a 23.6cc engine. It has been discontinued in favor of a new model. . The other one replaces the old bcz2610ts. It has a 25.4cc engine designed by Husqvarna (who bought redmax a couple years ago). . I'd like to hear a performance comparison between the two, each using the same string and head, both without shield. I have the older ones which I love, but don't know how the new husky motor fairs by comparison
+Matthew Finholm Very cool, good to know. I basically just buy the newer one each year when they break down/become too expensive to repair. If I get some free time, I will do a side by side of the 2 whips for sure. I wouldn't say time is as much an issue as much as actually having some decent weather here in MI is. Rain, Snow, Repeat.
+Brian's Lawn Maintenance thanks. I'm probably buying the big one this year (bcz3060ts, I believe) which is 29.5cc and still the redmax design, but will want a lighter and cheaper daily trimmer and would love to hear how the bcz260ts compares
+Matthew Finholm Yeah absolutely. If you do a video on your new acquisition, let me know! Love to check it out. I know the bigger engine is great for field brush and whatnot. We don't do anything like that, so it seemed a little over powered for us.
+Brian's Lawn Maintenance a friend of mine has several of the larger model. It has a couple of drawbacks: you have to use heavier string (Oregon square gator line with arrimid center. 095 is what I use on any/all the max torque trimmers, but an absolute necessity on the bigger model), it's of course a little heavier, and so powerful it can do damage. I've seen them damage their own head on one occasion. Also so much power that if it gets ahold of a rock it can be an issue. You have to pay attention. For that reason its not to be put into a novice employees hands. On the plus side it edges better than any string trimmer on the market, you can run the string out longer without hesitation, which also means the engine and clutch don't have to work as hard on the same job. It's basically a bigger displacement version of the bcz260ts
Are you still using a 260ts nowadays? Looking to move away from stihl wackkas
We use a variety of trimmers but the 260 is still a solid unit
@@BriansLawnMaintenance i picked up a 8550 to replace the ridiculously cumbersome 8010T and a 7500 for my wife for leaf season. I happened to check out the 260 while I was a the dealer and couldn't believe how light it was...even with the bottle of oil and the manual hanging from the handle. Hahaha I'm gonna pick a few up come March since I would use it like 3 more times this season. No need to run down the warranty over the winter before using them. I just feel the lightweight wackkas out there have little power and I've heard nothing but torque torque torque with the 260's .
I know you love red max equipment maybe you can shed some light on the red max walk behind and zero turn mower thanks in advance
They are husqavarna mowers just in red
@@schofieldlawncare Really wow thanks for the info
The olders redmax the best. I buy a new BCZ3050S great mistake. Sorry....
they look hardly used. Thanks
+d7060388 We try to power wash them weekly and keep em clean! They definitely last. Thanks for watching!
None of those are the BCZ3060TS lol
They look to be great trimmers.
