- The Axe is one of our oldest tools. Thousands of years old, and we still use and respect it, but for its versatility, and its potential to seriously hurt us. It's one of the most dangerous tools in a handtool woodshop, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use it, just that you should be aware of ways to stay safe.

This is the publisher or Karvsnitt among many other excellent titles.
I have no affiliation with them. I just think they are dope.
(You can download all of Christopher Swartz's Anarchist trilogy as free pdf's in the store. While you're there, buy a bound book or two. They are high-quality, will last for years, and make your bookshelf look classy.)

Thank you!
As always, crazy interesting. Though, for the love of Pete use that masters degree and add the missing "s" in your title 😂
Hey, I didn't get a masters degree in spelling! I spell by feel, by intuition! Also, I for real didn't see that, thanks for pointing it out. Fixed.
I had no idea! Love this!
Thanks!

How do you like to sharpen your axe?
I sharpen pretty much all my edged tools on a series of diamond stones, then hone with a strop. When it's eventually time to replace those I might give water stones a try, of course I'll still need a diamond flattening stone.
That said, all the sharpening systems work. I started with lapping paper on float glass, but got tired of replacing the paper. But, cards, pucks, stones, grinders, they all work, it's just preference. I've been thinking of getting a grinder for profiling and fixing edges, but expensive.
