These guys sre so talented! They always have one bass, one amazing tenor and fill in the rest. They made some of the best music... when music was still music.

The Spinners are an exceptional band, with Games People Play being one of my favorites, but they have so many great songs, and I love Rubberband Man. I appreciate the dialog from our hosts, younger people than myself, who have seen the unfortunate evolution of music. Make no mistake, the 50s, 60s and 70s eras are the greatest "Music" ever created, from DooWop to Motown, to the ever continuation of Rock & Roll. YOU CAN NOT HAVE MUSIC TODAY WITHOUT THE PIONEERS OF YESTERDAY!
I quote "Music" for a reason, as in those days, you had to have a singing voice to sing, unlike today, and songs were written with meaning, with purpose, and a story, which may be lost on me in today's music. Has anyone ever heard Jay and the Americans, Cara Mia? Or how about who my Dad described as the greatest tenor of all time, Tony Williams, Platters, My Prayer.
By the way, the era of music that I describe as the greatest is way before my time, as I was born in 1968, so how could I ever tout the greatness of musical eras that came before me. Well, I'll tell you, we were an immigrant Italian family that settled in The Bronx, NY in the early 1900s, and the subsequent generations grew up with music all around them. If you've ever heard of Dion & The Belmonts, Carlo Mastrangelo, one of the Belmonts, was my my Grandfather's God son, and in the Sicilian family, that;s a big deal. My Dad went to school with Larry Chance, of Larry Chance and the Earls. Listen to some of that music when you get a chance. Music creates such emotion and freedom, and the eras that came before us should be celebrated. Has anyone listened to Freddie Paris and The Five Satins? In The Still Of The Night? How about The Drifters? or The Temptations? or The Supremes?, or The Duprees?, or The Skyliners? If I'm going too far back, has anyone listened to the greatness of Johnny Rivers?!?!
WCBSFMNY - Harry Harrison used to say, unwrap each day like a precious gift, and the music that preceded our youth should be studied and appreciated, as it's the greatest music that we've been fortunate enough to experience.
Everyone has their own preferences in music, but I also love Frank Sinatra, Sammie Davis Jr, Roy Orbison, Ray Charles, Madonna, Metallica, Josh Groban, Bruce, Lady Gaga, Barbra, Karen, Mamas & The Papas, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Run DMC, The Beastie Boys, The Sugarhill Gang, Kiss, Snoop, Biggie, Diddy, etc., and everything Broadway, saw Les Miserables 4 times, Rent, Aida, Phantom, and countless others. The point is, music sets you free in your own world, enjoy and appreciate the greatness of the artists.
If you differ in opinion, I'd love to hear yours, but let's try not to cancel me, as has unfortunately become custom in in this awful society we currently live in.
Much love to all, and enjoy great music!!!

The Spinners did a banger theme song for the Mel Brooks movie Spaceballs. It’s like a cross between an 80s pop rock song and Motown. Mel usually had great music in his movies.

Three more of the Spinners' greatest were - Then Came You, Could It Be I'm Falling in Love and One Of A Kind (Love Affair).

I'm a white dude and have loved this song since 1975. This song has more rhythm and passion than any 25 pop songs of today.

@@John_Sash Nonsense!..Where's it written you can't listen to the whole song, then react? Especially when you're reacting to a little ol' 3 min. thing!..I know you gotta pause for copyright, but you don't need to do it too much.

It's sad that music was better in the 70's and 80's. Americans never should have allowed the golden age of music to end.
