I hate when people say "I miss old Ashley" as if she's some fictional character that some screenwriter created for an audience. She's not a prop. She's a person, she's a human. Humans shift and change all the time as they grow up so don't tell me you're exactly the same person you were when you were 19 because, I very much doubt it. Let Ashley be who she is at any point in her life, don't trap her in the past because it fits YOUR preference.
I remember when this performance at Troubadour was nearly the only thing you could find if you looked for “Halsey” on RUclips. Few months later, ordering the Badlands CD from abroad because in Italy no one knew her. Getting a guitar for Christmas to play her songs on it. Taking pride in my own bisexuality because she was talking about it with no shame. She really was an huge part of my adolescent years and it’s so strange to see that time flies and things change, but these songs still have a meaning to me.

She is still the same Halsey. Deep down she's still the same bubbly cute fan loving girl, her newer music may seem more in your face and she may act more serious but music is always changing and each album has a different message and the way she portrays it may seem like she's changed. If anything she's flourished and has been reaching new heights with her music and still cares for her fans.

She was a lot different a year ago. She had long hair, she wore different clothing, she was more interactive with her fans. She was just overall a much more normal and chill person. I mean, I still love her but I think fame got to her and she's told to do a lot more things now that are different than how she used to be.
