They remind of my grans hearing aid.
Damn straight.
Beige is a great colour for any product, said nobody ever. Thanks John, good video and info as always.
Doesn’t matter if they are the greatest-sounding headphones in the world, if they don’t stay connected consistently, that’s a non-starter.
Absolutely agree. Top priority with comfort a close second. If they don't stay connected and aren't nice to wear, the audio quality is irrelevant. Nobody will use them
New term : “ non-starter”..lol well somewhat new. 😂🎉
I thought the issue was they stay connected too much 😂
Not sure if he specified Olaf’s issues
Personally I had no connection issues with the Orbit, I've got a Pixel 6 pro and it connects at almost the same speed as the pixel buds pro

Bought these when they first came out and promptly returned them. A couple of months later I purchased them again. I love them and primarily I use them around the house. My second pair seem to be free of the strange problems I had at first. I use my AirPods for work and phones calls and listening to guys thousands of miles away from me talk about headphone. :).
I love that you're listening to the orb.
Thanks John, been looking forward to you reviewing these. Seems like a good first attempt from Campfire but as you say, needs improvement. I'll wait for the 2.0.
Thanks!
Liberty 4 absolutely support wireless charging. I use it all the time.
Comply Memory Foam tips are great for large ear canals......
Love my Orbits, had the same issue regarding connecting to my phone, but this, along with the app can easily be resolved with future firmware/app updates. I was lucky to have a pair of Comply Foam tips that fit my Orbits, once I put these on, they are stunning to my ears
Yeah. I’m sure the consultant who works a few hours a month for Campfire is diligently working on that. This is way out of their area of expertise. Should have done a collab with an actual electronics company. I love my CA’s but this kind of product is made by a different kind of company.
Sounds like we need Orbit2 asap!
These IEMs are the bomb
I always have to use the foam tips with Campfire IEMs, with Final E types and other silicone tips, they can seal too well in my ears and I end up with either a vacuum or pressure build up which kills the sound, I have to keep breaking the seal for them to sound right. The included marshmallow tips fix that problem. I may try the Orbit, lately I've been getting a bit fed up of IEM cables.
I use the provided foam tips which solved the problem for me. It's definitely a quirky iem especially in regards to connectivity but I'm liking them a lot. If I could add 1 feature it would be auto-pause when you remove them from the ear. I can't do ANC (it gives me a headache) so I hope to see some more products like this in the future.
Will you also take a look the new 64Audio x ifi IEM's? They're not "lesser known" or strictly speaking a traditional TWS set, but the ifi adapter seems really great!
Try the CF audio tips. Marshmallow Foam Tips (Red+Blue)
Ive got a pair of these and love them, yes the colour is a bit "meh" and like something that belongs in an old peoples home.
But the sound "to me" is great, detailed, open and great soundstage, with good bass ( via the wavelet app) I use final audio E-tips and find them a perfect seal, and they don't come loose or out completely when running or moving around.
Ive not had any issues with the Campfire app but I only use it for updates etc and I don't use the equaliser, for that I use Wavelet equaliser app and it works perfectly for tuning the sound, and how YOU would like it.
2:49 I get the same issue with the Final Audio ZE3000 from time-to-time…Speaking of, Final do a wireless Type-E tip.
ah i am curious about what your take on the final ze8000 would be.
BT connectivity issues, they don’t make a good in ear seal, EQ sometimes doesn’t work and they look like Grandmas hearing aids from the 70s/80s. All this can be yours for the premium price of $250. What a deal!
I've always liked the passive noise reduction from Etymotic earphones although their eartips aren't everyone's cup of tea. I found that they do a pretty good job even on noisy subway platforms. It's a shame that I never really liked their sound signature. Looks like I may have to try out the Orbits as I have average canal ears.
Ok large ear canal listeners: I need the largest eartip out there for my campfire and ibasso iems. Final Audio does not make a big enough one. My current solution is using Westone Orange foam tips, prying out their narrow inner tube and stuffing the inner tube of a Final E tip. I'd love to find an off the shelf option. Is a custom mould the only option?
How does this compare to B&W Pi7 S2?
These could be for me, but I am very uncertain about the wireless connectivity issues.
I get the Bluetooth reconnection issue with my Souncores. I frequently wonder why there's no sound and then find the phone has connected to the Souncores, still sitting in their case.
Great review , definitely interested in these , Would like a follow up video to see if a firmware update fixed the pairing issue and if you found some good aftermarket tips that solved the fit issue , thanks John
Marshmallow Foam Tips (Red+Blue)
Great review. Definitely sounds like these are a “wait for the second iteration” iem. Those connectivity issues are a no go for me.
May I suggest to try the 1 more evo. There must be very comparable to those reviews.
Do you or any commenter have any insight on how podcasts/audiobooks sound with the orbits?
Nice Video
I too struggle with IEM fit, the only tips i can find that fit my Melomania 1+ are a pair of twin flange tips with the small flange cut off. I have other tips that fit my ears, but they don't fit in the case.
Have you tried the memory foam tips? There are official ones and some much better ones from Comply (T600). Not only do they fit snug as a bug but they also do a fantastic job of blocking external noise. I've been using these on a pair of CA Honey dews. Lovely.
Du bist so Wunderbar Berlin ...
I would love to know how you feel the sound compares to the Sennheiser Momentum 3 TW. The Sennheiser has all the ANC smarts and some incredible sound quality. Which did you enjoy the listing more. Note I am not asking which is better but specifically your opinion - because with good items - it really depends on so much, as you were saying - the seal ANd the design of the drivers, the tips, and lots of other things - so I am really asking about your experience rather than which is "Objectively better".
Love this series, by the way.
I asked before, but not sure if yous have seen it - Have you come across the Bang an Olufsen H95 headphones? I am especially interested in your thoughts compared to the Bowers and Wilkins Px8 you reviewed. Similar price and audience I think. I would love to know how you fare with those.
Great vid, as usual.
The comment section is always juicy!!
did you try the new moondrop TWS that everyone is raving about
Hi John, pairing in the Campfire App is only possible when the music is playing
Yep. I’m aware. Remember: I have two pairs.
Noble Fokus Mystique on deck?
I personally want a pair just for my windows pc I use for software development, I use AirPods Pro 2 with my iPhone and Mac and for working out, but like to have a separate set just for my pc. Currently I’m using Beats Studio buds with my pc but would prefer better audio quality and wireless charging
Sound is amazing
Interesting comparison, especially with regard to its musical quality. That these headphones make us doubt whether or not to use wired headphones is something very interesting.
An interesting comment from Jon is that sometimes passive cancelation could be as good or better than active one.
I totally agree, the sound is more natural. The only active cancellatio real advantage from my side is that is possible to deactivate to listen external sounds if ypu need it without take out the earphones.
You can do that better with Ambient. No need for ANC at all.
I have heard that they have a lot of head room if your a loud listener
Thanks for another great video I'm going to probably check those out I'm a headphone guy but I'm going to probably get some earbuds them look like they're good and you recommended them so I'll check them out have a great day
I'll keep my Sennheiser True Wireless... look good, sound great, has EQ, good BT connection and calls ;)
How are these music sound quality-wise vs the Apple and Sennheiser?
In a word: better.
But not has good as Noble Fokus Mystic.
Ok one last time : have they tested the battery after 130 degrees? I hope the batteries are replaceable. 😢
They look like hearing aids did way back in the day. Perhaps it’s just the colour of them!
Where I live the garbage trucks are painted in those two shades
Libery 4 support wireless charging!
Please, review a pair of beoplay ex!!
They look like an HNK pistol in the desert Sarah coat finish, matches my gun sort of a 70s vibe
Neat. I’m still not sold on wireless. I don’t like the idea of the battery not being able to hold a charge after a few years and having to just chuck them in the bin when that happens.
This is why I blasted them away from my orbit
I got some refurbished JBL Live free nc+ TWS for $30.00 shipped. I’m very happy for the rock bottom price. The noise canceling is a lesson in mediocrity but I knew that going in from reviews. They’re not horrible or super comfortable. On my left ear they’re like bad acupuncture @ times. One popped out without warning once so I wouldn’t trust them for a bike ride.
The app works well to control EQ.
would you mind adding EU links to your videos as well? I feel your content is often very useful, but having to search around from us and UK stores and back trace it to eu dealers often is extra work that could be fixed if you add an eu link or even a german amazon link. Great content though. Thanks!
Can you prove the B&O EX? We would like to know your thoughts
The B&O EX sound amazing for wireless IEMs but have terrible ANC…It’s non-existent. All that quality audio is lost without decent ANC in noisy environments. AirPod Pros 2 on the go for me and wired IEMs at home.
Quite cheap, if you ask me. (Considering Campfire's outrageous prices...)
Andromeda (2018,2019,2020 editions) is the main if not only iem worth its $1099 price (emerald sea $1450 idk if its good) from campfire everything else you're better off looking elsewhere
Cheap but very low quality
Why this color? Why???
Why any colour? Have you seen what Andromedas look like after a few years? I have only owned stainless steel Campfires.
Reminds of old skool earing aids!
They may be PEEK, which alongside Ultem (PEI) is all the rage in the high end scenes of other niche hobbies. If they are PEEK they’ll be durable AF. Which would be great if the buggers worked 😂
Ok, who will buy this after hearing this review? Campfire should have waited rather than releasing an MVP.
This review just killed the "Orbit"...
You might say, it deorbited them
what about B&O?
Definitely a bit of a Minecraft look about them. Too bad they’re not what I would have hoped.
More like a NHS hearing aid look.
With regards to being connected whilst they are in the case. I had terrible trouble with a pair of RHA Truconnect’s which done the same thing. Very annoying.
but why they have those pistachio colours?!
The app should be a pretty quick and easy fix. The gotchas might not be too bad for me.
you've moved out of Germany?
He flits between his place in Germany and his place in Portugal.
That massive nozzle would kill my ears, sadly.
Too many “buts” … that’s a flat no from me. Can you have too many buts? 😂
Maybe the Moondrop Spring Tips could be the tips you are looking for.
That’s the cheapest Bluetooth stuff they could have put in there
Shame the look like 1980s nhs hearing aids
that's exactly what attracts me to them.
But you can’t see them if they are in your ears 😂
i think campfire has choosen the wrong buisiness end. i think a more premium true wireless lile maybe a 600 dollar iem in the quality range of a polaris 2 would have suited better. people buying campfire are more easely ready to put 600 follar plus on the table but therefore demand high quality
If you want a True wireless IEM that is really good get the Sony WF-1000XM5. They are the best True wireless IEM on the market right now, I know they aren't "audiophile" but I feel like True Wireless IEM's are almost in a different category from most IEM's because they have to do so many things well.
Yeh if they keep working. I've had two in 9 months.
Microphone does not agree with you
🤢 Campfires are usually so aesthetically pleasing, but that beige plastic(?) is next-level hideous. They look like UV-damaged hearing aids from the 1970s.
I loathe all of these individual ear bud bluetooth pieces. I've already found several floating around here and there in the gym I go to. My eighteen year old nephew lost his expensive apple ear buds approximately three months within getting them. Wireless headphones, yes. Earbuds, no.
I think you should check out Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. I think pure audio wise, it's the best TWS.
No it is not. I have it, i thought that they were very good until i got ZE3000 from Final Audio. Best TWE for me (I have Airport Pro, Oneplus Pro 2, Samsung Buds Pro 2...all very good, 2 drivers buds)
Color is super ugly. Enough for me to pass. I'll stick with B&W Pi7 & Sennheiser Momentum TW 3.
I know! Looks like one is doubling up on hearing aids
The color reminds me of the beige case desktop computers of the 80s and the 90s. Nostalgic, but not in a good way.
Hopefully no one will want them ( more for me )
it looks like what sci-fi movies thought spaceships would look like in the 1970s
None of those iems stay put in my ears. Frustrating. (I have the Sennheiser's)
Certainly piqued my interest
A little disappointed with that.
No anc. Not good battery life. Poor app. No transparency. And still more expensive than flagship Sony Apple Pixels aor Bose. Tws are not all about sound
Personally I think the anker still the best value to go. The camp fire is rubbish...IF you want the best all around including sound the final audio is better than the camp fire. Yes their anc may not be sony level but they are OK, and their app and connection still better than camp fire. I am sure the price too. I can get it for around $500 aus. Look and fit a lot cooler than camp-fire.
But the sound of the orbits are amazing
@Sal Reda So? Have you heard the Final Audio? Besides IF you put all the bad things on camp fire together I don't think it's worth it. Sometime we have also to consider all the factors.
My experience with Campfire iems is that they are THE most overrated iems on the planet.
That is an entirely useless statement without details of what issues they presented.
Other than use in the gym or extreme portability, I never see the point of IEMs wired or otherwise for sound quality. They all sound the same to me, just different flavors of mediocre music production. These are ugly to boot!
What's with the comments? Don't people have other things to hate? You don't like them, fine. Geez. No need to say it's crap and their colour looks "damaged".
People are not OK what's going on...!!! You don't want beige get something else. My God. Grow up. It's not worth being offended over a colour choice.
I clicked off this video as soon as I saw the packaging and the colour.
wireless IEM's are just a waste.
how do you reckon?
ok its crap.
I just wasn't that impressed. If I'm going wireless it needs to have other features of convivence and I honestly preferred the sound of the second gen AirPods Pro (Apple User)
Love most of their aesthetics and was hoping these would have had a better balanced & holistic performance and fit. If they can sort out what needs to be improved, hope they will also offer some other color choice as well. I still use a pair of wireless IEMs you reviewed a few years ago and I have experienced the same, well sealed IEMs can be better than adequate in many travel situations.
