Dutch synthesizer band, started in 1979 with Peter Kommers and Ruud van Es. They used their names to make the name of the band. Later Rob Rapen and Jos van de Dungen joined the band. Besides Peru the same team without Jos recorded as Nova with their more pop-oriented spacesynth sound. In 1982 Nova made a number one hit Aurora. In 1988 Peru made another hit Africa. Songs from the album Continents were used by Bassie & Adriaan in the series Het Geheim van de Schatkaart as background music.

"Perú" , banda de shyntpop - Electrónic Music conformada por un trío holandés que también trabajó en forma paralela bajo el nombre de "Nova" aunque terminado el proyecto "Nova" siguieron bajo el nombre de "Perú" . A fines de los 90s lanzaron un trabajo a través de Internet bajo el nombre de "Erotic Dreams" y el álbum "Temple of love" el cual fue muy confundido con el proyecto musical de Michael Cretu "Enigma". Saludos desde Chile.

i have it also on vinyl - like. Synth sounds without much using of effects etc. Pure dry sounds with a bit reverb.

been looking for some TD alternatives especially that remind me of the early stuff this one what can i say early TD/Kraftwerk/Shultze this one is good nice percussion too very hard to tell if real or synth done very well

Voor de Nederlanders hier: Velen hebben dit denk ik ook nog als kind leren kennen doordat Aad Klaris een aantal tracks gebruikte in de originele nabewerking van Bassie & Adriaan En Het Geheim Van De Schatkaart!
Hoor veel sounds vergelijkbaar met Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Jean-Michel Jarre, Martin Achterberg etc. Beetje Berlin School of Space Ambient zoals dat soms omschreven wordt. Heerlijke synth sounds uit die tijd!
Iemand trouwens nog wat tips voor vergelijkbare duister klinkende synth tracks (vooral zoals het eerste gedeelte van Continents 00:42 en Savane 14:38)? 😉👍

Naaah,its not that bad,man...i listened to much worse turntables in my life,and enjoyed lately the music ! But i know what you mean...maybe it was the decodifier that lowed down the quality a little,but still sounds better than the Lenco turntable of the seventies from my grandma,hahahaha ;)
Patrick Bodine I can...but i have really good ears,with 53 yrs i admit (hearing loud rock music all my life though) so maybe i am one of the blessed,haha ;-)
