  • If you love colonial Spanish haciendas from the Mexico of old, then this hacienda-style casa designed by award-winning ShubinDonaldson Architects of Santa Barbara, CA, and constructed by luxury builder Finton Construction of Los Angeles, CA, will surely appeal.
The two-storey, 2,100-square-foot, three-bedroom, 2.5-bath custom home is situated on a 2,453-square-foot pie-shaped lot nestled on a quiet back corner of Aqua Viva, the newest neighborhood in Loreto Bay. Boasting incredible views, this casa overlooks the golf course and borders a large estuary with fountain. In addition to the indoor space, enjoy 1,500 square feet of unenclosed hardscape, including a patio courtyard, an upstairs terrace, and the third floor observation tower. ShubinDonaldson’s architectural plans and renderings are available.
All finishes, tiles and fixtures were selected by ShubinDonaldson’s interior designers, including handcrafted Mexican antique furniture, soft furnishings and art from the city of Guadalajara.
The spacious and bright open-concept kitchen, dining and living room features solid wood ceiling beams, custom cabinets and baked ceramic Saltillo floors, which run throughout the interior. A central stereo system includes speakers in all living areas. Gorgeous Talavera tiles add a Mexican flair to the eating bar and kitchen, which has stainless appliances including a gas range. Best of all, an entire wall of sliding glass doors easily allows the outdoors in, joining the patio and living area to create one large entertainment space.
The enclosed Loreto fieldstone patio includes a large Talavera tile fountain and a leafy central orange tree, around which is situated a cozy conversation area warmed by a gas fireplace and built-in gas BBQ, and an outdoor dining room seating six. A full-length exterior wall of wooden louvered doors can be fully opened for a stunning view of the tranquil estuary, the lush golf course and multi-hued Sierra de la Giganta Mountains beyond. The exterior stone walls are draped in luxuriant vegetation or bordered by colorful desert gardens.
An exterior hallway leads to an antique bench with a stone statue of St. Francis on the wall above and a powder-room with outdoor shower.
The large master suite, accessed from the patio, includes a king-size bed, walk-in closet and ensuite with a double sink vanity and a walk-in shower.
Upstairs, the travertine terrace is the perfect place to relax, featuring a hot tub/plunge pool to cool you down in summer and warm you up on cool winter nights, as well as several seating and lounging areas with a gas fireplace, a beverage center, and a shade pergola. Two bedrooms are also located on this second level, one with a French balcony overlooking the estuary. The two share a full bath.
A spiral staircase leads to the third floor observation tower with a pergola and desert planters. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the golf course and mountains.
The attached garage has room for your golf cart and bicycles and includes custom storage cabinets and a full-size washer/dryer. The water system includes a 750-gallon cistern with pressurized distribution, a filter and UV water treatment. An auxiliary propane storage tank backs-up the main supply. A propane hot-water tank with circulating pump provides on-demand hot water throughout the house.
This home is ideally located close to the Aqua Viva pool, gastroteca A Z U L, Pan Que Pan Bakery, James’ Organic Vegetables, Pedro’s, Modelorama and other services.

Mexicano.
