Love the tone shift between the Olga Tokarczuk and the Emily Henry. Will say that I just finished You and Me on Vacation and loved it, such a great pick me up book! 😊📚
I came back to this video to hear your review of 'Book Lovers' because it's now only £3 on Amazon (which is a deal I cannot ignore). I LOVE your superpower and thank you so much for sharing it! I shall now be on hot alert as I love going to The Works for good deals!
I recently found your channel because of your Middlemarch videos. I loved your discussion of Eliot and the Reformation Act. I have been going through your videos and love your discussions- as someone who did not understand the role of Classic novels until recently, your passion for books/ literature/ classics is wonderful.
Read The Books of Jacob in November. Really good book. Read The Sentence recently really good book also. Currently reading Rosamund Bartlett's biography of Tolstoy.
Great video, love the combo of haul and London bookshopping! I have The Books of Jacob but nervous to dive in. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it once you get started ❤📖
Thank you so much for watching! Historically my family were bargee travellers so I always feel strangely connected to them. I’d love to have a holiday on one one day!
@@luke28 "In the works" in other contexts can mean that something is in the process of being done. It's often used as an excuse when something is late. But Claire was referring to the shop.
I've read up on Delia's backstory and I'm seriously perturbed at how much promotion this novel/movie has received. I would like to read/watch it to fully form my understanding of the situation but I'm definitely not on board with Ms. Owens. The lives of wild creatures are incredibly important but what the Owens family did was inherently wrong and to use a novel to hide her backstory in and make herself the hero is concerning. Especially when it seems that the characters within who are of African descent are so unfairly stereotyped. I appreciate that you brought this issue to light as I have been hearing a lot about this story and want to be fully informed before investing in it.
Yeah it’s all really dodgy (understatement) I think she’s still so successful because 1) white privilege 2) it was her ex husband’s actions rather than directly hers. Like I don’t want to blame the actions of a man on a woman 😂
@@Claire_Fenby it's true, her part in the event was a bit murky and less involved than her husband, from what the media and the Owens' books portray. And I'm certainly no lawyer! Much love 💕 I appreciate your genuine concern for others!

Lovely video! A shot of Sybil is always appreciated. So cute.

I did exactly the same thing!! I love The Works - really fuelled my love of reading as a child
Another gloriously beautiful video, thank you for sharing it and I hope you enjoy the books! 📔📔

It’s so weird to see people without masks! I don’t think I am ready to ditch them yet!
I completely agree! Definitely will be wearing mine for the foreseeable 😷

Books, London, and narrowboats (a recent obsession) in one video.👍🏻

Love Gower Street Waterstones so much!! 📔

I guess its time to add amazon prophet to the list of titles. London loos great as ever I'd like to visit there some day!
London certainly looks busy compared to my time there over Christmas.

Haha, I have the same “super power” 📚
Visited Daunt for the first time last week, that beautiful room 😍📚

This is a random question, but what lipstick do you use? It’s so gorgeous!
Unfortunately I have like 20 red lipsticks so won't be able to tell... I have a problem! 😅
