- Dr. Jordan B Peterson and stars of “Duck Dynasty,” Willie and Korie Robertson, discuss faith and family values as they were presented in the show, how they were preserved behind-the-scenes, the balance between reality and fiction, structure and playful spontaneity that was captured on “Duck Dynasty,” and the true positive impact the show had on viewers, as well as the culture of America during and since its phenomenal 11-season run.
Willie and Korie Robertson are the stars of A&E’s hit reality TV show “Duck Dynasty” and executive producers of “The Blind,” the true story of the Robertson family. Together, they grew their family business, Duck Commander, from a living room operation into a destination for all things outdoors. They also built Tread Lively, a multimedia production company that creates films, television shows, and award-winning podcasts that uplift the culture.
The Robertsons' story is a remarkable example of entrepreneurship built on faith, family, and ducks, in that order. Married for 31 years, they live in West Monroe, Louisiana, with their large and growing family. Their writing credits include “The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family, and Ducks Built a Dynasty,” “American Hunter,” “American Entrepreneur,” and “Strong and Kind: Raising Kids of Character.” Willie and Korie are passionate about adoption, storytelling, and doing life with their kids and grand-babies. They are currently developing several exciting film, podcasting, and TV projects.

I have never been more excited for a podcast episode! I accepted Jesus because of hearing Phil Robertson preach the gospel! I also have so much respect for you Jordan and think it's amazing you were willing to sit down with them and have a conversation.
isn't Phil Robertson a racist?
Cody Johnstons 3 hour Roast of Peterson is undebunked and has
completly ruined Petersons Image.
YU can be 'The One' to refute the video (only if you can finish though)!
That’s great. Thanks for sharing.
Here’s the deal, there never was a deal, never has been a deal. That’s the short and skinny of it.
It seems to be promotional for the release of their movie. I do not know if Dr Peterson accepts payment for the interview though.
The Kingdom of God brings together some of the most interesting and unexpected people.
I love the trailer park boys!
Definitely did not see this episode coming-- Dr. Peterson can find deep meaning wherever he looks.
Just hope Jordan has the capacity to see what the apostle Paul taught in 2 Cor 5:18-21 because it is better than John 3:16
They definitely paid to be on this.
@@ryanchristian6020it's interesting that you think Peterson would just have anybody on because they paid.. lol, a bit naive.
@@PaperGrape the very first thing they do is plug their fkn movie and production company. Obviously he’s not going to give just anyone a platform but why wouldn’t he accept payment to let someone advertise their movie as long as it’s something he approves of. Have you not seen the various commercials in the podcast? If you think Peterson isn’t going to accept payment, and rightfully so, then yes, you are naive.
Amen buddy
How great to see Dr Peterson smile ❤️
It’s like seeing the family member that’s been through a lot smile it makes you happy that their happy
This gentleman is hand picked by The Creator Himself, one can know that by witnessing the pure love of people clearly displayed in this wonderful man, may The Almighty continue to use him for His Owen glory,!!!
😁
I love the Robertson Family. I am so glad to be a part of their Christian family.
❤MARANATHA ❤
Amen. Me as well
@@elizabethanderson3307Amen
Amen!
Amen y'all!
I went and saw the blind movie last night. It was so moving and beautifully done the filming, the acting the music setting the costumes the script.they told the story in such an impactful way. I would highly recommend it. It’s a way of deepening your faith and hope in what God can do.
😅
; )
I saw it too. When Al prayed, “I miss my daddy. Please make him a good man. Amen” 😭 We can’t all be a Phil. But we can be Jan ❤
I saw it too. Yes Beautifully done. Moving. Gift to the world. So many people need to see this.
Need to get Dr Peterson and Uncle Si in the same room
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh wow. Si’s facial expressions would be classic!!
I can remember my family and I sitting down on Wednesdays to watch it because it was the last wholesome thing on TV, & it was a heck of a good laugh. Can’t wait to go see the blind movie this weekend! Phil Robertson‘s book was a huge factor in me, giving my life to the Lord last year.
Hello 👋🏻, how are you doing? 🌹🌹
I’m a big fan of Dr. Peterson and the entire Robertson family, so this was super cool! I’ve already seen The Blind and I HIGHLY recommend it. I would love to hear JBP visit with Phil!
Same, idk how well their communication styles would mesh but it would still be so interesting. Phil was my fave
Its important to see a solid family that loves God and one another, now more than ever.
May Phil live to be 120.
I watched the interview with the Robertson’s and I was taken by the fact they are much more than what they portray in the Duck Dynasty episodes. I felt they expressed genuine feelings about their families and their personal relationships and their relationship with Christ. My main point though from the very end where you commented on how they conducted themselves with each during the interview. I actually did notice how they were not stepping on each other and were giving each other time to speak. I pray often that I will be a better listener than I am a talker. Your comment made me reflect upon my own marriage ( I lost my wife to brain cancer 8 years ago), I believe I could have allowed my wife to have more time telling her version of a situation than I probably gave because I most likely felt my version was more accurate. I always reflect on how I could have made her life experience more joyful had I had my head more in tune with biblical perspective and principles.
So sorry for your loss. Reflection and introspection are great things, I just hope you aren’t beating yourself up.
I’m pretty confident that the type of man that reflects on these things has a high chance of being a great husband.
Hope that makes sense. God bless.
Thanks for the kind words they are much appreciated.
Dr. Peterson and Phil Robertson, that would be quite a sight!!! Loved this episode, thank you Dr. Peterson for having an episode with the Robertson family.
I haven't been able to watch this yet I haven't had time, but I would really love to see Phil and Jordan sit down together and talk pleas make that happen.
Yes that would be GREAT!!
Hearing them discuss Christianity would be amazing
Agreed, on an “Unashamed” podcast with Jason🙏
That would be so interesting!
I would love this
The more I practice mindfulness and gratitude the more balanced my life.
JP always delivers. TY
What a great interview...interesting and humble people realizing and respecting what the greatest gifts in their lives are. Faith and Love. ❤✝
I can't think of a better way to spend two hours of my life than watching this video. I in the past three years have struggled with cancer, and beat it. During this process I spent a lot of time watching You Tube videos of inspiring speakers to fill myself with positive influences and keep my Spirit lifted. The Robertsons and Yours Dr. Peterson have never failed to keep me inspired and willing to fight with everything I have in me. Today I am cancer free thanks to the hand of God and the company of believers I have watched on You Tube. I am inspired to write about my life and the mentor that taught me to be a man, a father, a husband and a follower of Jesus Christ. Thank you from the depths of my heart for your example of steadfastness in the face of diverse obstacles. I am in your debt.
I love duck dynasty, I remember awhile ago watching it every night with my family. I'm so glad you got to interview them.
What an honor it must be, to have Dr Peterson compliment you on your personal character!
I love the trailer park boys!
One piece of advice Phil Robertson gave to young men was that you date a girl who is nice looking, but you have to be careful. He said, "She might be real pretty on the outside, but inside is as mean as a rattlesnake".
Duck Dynasty was like Green Acres but with a complete family dynamic. Everybody notices a family that sticks together because of the friction that often happens at home. There's a type of faith that says, we can make this work.
People have been living vicariously through other peoples lives for a long long time. It was good to hear the behind the scenes tales from Willie and Korie.
I think it was to many a modern Little House on the Prairie or The Waltons.
I LOVE how they sit and end the episodes with a prayer while sitting together. This is lost today! 😢 i love the duck dynasty family! Thank you for this ❤😊
Duck Dynasty was too wholesome for ms tv. Very happy and pleasantly surprised to see this conversation take place. ❤
The Collab we never knew we needed 🔥🔥🔥
Such a great discussion - this family is such a good model for the everyday family unit. My family has deep roots in texas but my husband's family is from Louisiana and Alabama and respect is a big deal in the southern culture - especially respecting your father and the roles we play subordinate to him. Not saying we all bow down to Dad but we all know the role of the man in the home and the effect that has on the entire family - and that is something to respect. We see that in Phil's life and the impact it has had on his family. God's grace is incredibly beautiful.
I've been praying for JP to interview a more evangelical Christian. Sooo cool! What a treat!!! NOW- PLEASE interview Bill Johnson from Bethel Church in Redding, California (or Dan Farrelly) 🙏
Amen! Same.. what an amazing impact God could have when JBP gives his whole heart to Christ 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
@elizabethharder1030 he may have already. Not for us to know the hearts of others. Not fair to assume he doesn't already. But I understand your point. ❤️
Never watched the show before, but these two are amazing. Hearing them talk about their faith was very inspiring.
I hope you find past episodes to enjoy. 🎉
The Robertson family is another God loving example of success that the media tried to TAKE DOWN with the same sort of slander they are throwing at Russell Brand and Tim Ballard and so many others.
Russel brand seems kinda guilty unfortunately…
Very true...you can't be famous whilst sharing truth these days, without the demonic elite coming after you!
@@braynjohnson4302
The thing with Russell Brand though is that the media fully knew all of this about him years ago and was okay with all of it. But as soon as he becomes more conservative in his views and lifestyle, and starts questioning the left, then all of a sudden they must do everything to stop him and take him down because he is challenging the narrative.
@@cherylclark8817 I agree the timing is 100% political but he’s not innocent.
Children licking the food takes me back to when I, an only child, visited my Uncle's. They had 7 kids! It was culture shock for me. I remember that the children waited in line to serve ourselves buffet style. The first one in line would lick the dessert that they wanted because we didn't get dessert until after we had emptied our plate. It was so unexpected to me. But it demonstrated the nature of sibling revelry to my naive privilege.
The kitchen table is where my mom and I would fold back the table cloth, work on a puzzle, and fold it back when we had to do books/eat
A good wholesome couple having a conversation with a good wholesome teacher going on here!😊
Enjoyed Duck Dynasty when it was on also!👍
My family LOVED the Duck Dynasty show! These guys rock
I still watch the reruns of Duck Dynasty. It's just a great show.
Of all the many conversations that you, Jordan, have had with different people, this one is my very favorite because it touches base on different things of quality about life that we all need to take a very good look at in our own lives and consider what changes we might need to make, or even those things we thought were failures but really were not. Thanks to all of you for having this conversation for all of us who appreciate you to benefit from.
I love you Jordan Peterson ♥️
I have a brother who looks so much like Uncle Si that people ask for his autograph. He frequently wears an Uncle Si T shirt so they have a direct comparison. It has generated a lot of funny anecdotes for our family.
I knew this interview had to happen❤ Now Dr Peterson needs to interview Phil Robertson!🙌
What a wonderful calm interview with all around good genuine people 🙏🏼🥰
I love the Robertson family for their values ,it's what i love about being a southern man that most media refuse to cover .
Love this conversation!! We love The Robertsons and you, Jordan Peterson!! Thank you🙏
Hello 👋🏻, how are you doing? 🌹🌹
Willie mentioning the 700 club brought back a flood of fond memories. I loved this episode, thank you Dr. Peterson for another fantastic learning opportunity 🙏
What a refreshing family, interviewer, and discussion. Loved this. 50:34 is such a nice moment of Jordan laughing, Willie telling the story and Korie looking at him so lovingly.
Good on you for having such diverse interviews
I lived near the Roberson family my entire life, I even see them at my Church here and there. I am so glad to see you interacting with them Jordan.
We had the old Phil Robertson VHS tapes because my husband was a duck hunter and we loved the content back then. When they took hold and took off I just thought it couldn't happen to better people.
Separately, one state over, my sister's neighbor hunted with Phil which we learned accidentally years later.
Incredible interview!
Two of my favorite things
Doc and the Ducks..
Faith and and family values are the heartbeat of a Christian nation
This is one video I never imagined would ever exist. But here we are and God it's wonderful :)
It's the rare podcast that makes me laugh out loud. Thank you Dr. Peterson.
What the Robertsons did well was the sharing of wisdom. Every day, people around us are sharing wisdom, we just need to be humble enough to take it in.
This was one of the best interviews I've ever watched. Almost like a couch session with the marriage counselor. Ha! I'm off to watch The Blind right now. Praying Dr Peterson gives his life to Jesus Christ.
The world needs to bring back family dinners. Love this episode!
Hello 👋🏻, how are you doing? 🌹🌹
I love the way Willie and Korie as the born again believers that they are, explained about success amongst the many other topics they discussed. Prayerfully Jordan will consider their Godly wisdom and someday himself totally surrender to the King of kings and Lord of lords!!
I don't want this conversation to end. Could listen for hours. God bless and thank you.
I’ve read multiple Duck Dynasty memoirs and still learned new things from this video. Love this family & their story. Thank you!!❤
Outstanding cultural idols. It seems that JP is more fascinated with southern ideals. Perhaps he relates more to the south from how he grew up. Humble, simple, hardworking people.
As a southerner I was drawn to his background cuz it was country living
Culture of Honor?
This was a wonderful conversation. I believe this is the beginning of more wonderful things. I am going to watch "The Blind", "That's for sure.", as Jordan would say.
Having a conversation with Dr peterson is on my bucket list, I hope one day my dream will come true😊
Could you imagine Uncle Si on JP? That's my dream podcast!!
The comment by Dr. Peterson regarding Clinton, and others, about the reason some politicians are popular is because we THINK their persona is real. Too true.
We think this is true 🌍
@@webstercatWe think that’s true because it is. The earth is definitely round.
Jordan, could you do an interview with Tom McDonald? That would be awesome.
Love Duck Dynasty ❤️ can’t wait to watch the Movie 👍 awesome interview 🙌🇨🇦
Love the Robertsons! The Blind is a remarkable movie!
Seeing Dr. Peterson laughing is a relief, because we don't see much of it, but that's absolutely not a reason to believe he's not got a fun, happy, smiling side!
Also, his interest is in humanity (imo) and not just in a specific type or group of people. ❤
Saw a JBP post after cleaning my room and clicked!,,...Looks like Im the 1st one here? Hi to everyone else!😁
@@vincentsmith8328Congrats!
Might not be Jordan's absolute No 1 fan...but top 1% !!
So glad to see families still together.
5 generations is awesome, we were blessed to have that in our family also.
Well now here is a grand crossover of things I enjoy.
i miss duck dynasty so much! i rmbr my dad loved watching this show.
I highly recommend Phil and Jase's podcast called "Unashamed", and Si Robertson's podcast called "The Duck Call Room".
They'll both make you laugh, but the Unashamed podcast is great because they also dove into the Word.
Great, great interview! When God is in the front and center, AWESOMENESS happens! Hope Jordan finds Christ.
He is a good man and would be powerful brother for the Gospel. Hope the scales shed soon.
Thank you, Jordan!!!
I like and watch both of these "people" often and this is my favorite each of them has done by far! I was so excited to have Mr Peterson ask questions to the Robertsons. Honestly the best!
An interview with Phil and Miss Kay would be amazing! This interview was great too! Watched it straight through!
Wow! That was awesome! All glory to Jesus! Mr Peterson, the prayers of the righteous availing much ! 🙏 Praying for you too to come to Christ and spending eternity with you and all the saints
Wow been a hot minute. Duck dynasty pretty awesome to see them on Jordan Peterson.
Podcast every day on Blaze TV 😊
@@howlingwaters2741duck dynasty on RUclips. Phil has a channel
I watch a concrete RUclips channel and It struck me in a similar way to the Robertson family, Victory Outdoor Services. Good man, good crew, good family. Ups and downs, triumphs and failures as we all have, but good honest people at the helm.
There is no such thing as failure, if you learn something from the experience that makes you better. Christianity places a big emphasis on the power of love and forgiveness, and is something the world really needs right now. Bless you guys! God uses those who are weak, but the key is we are all weak in the presence of God. It is humility that allows us to surrender.
This is so cool I was not expecting to see Duck Dynasty on Dr Peterson's podcast! Love these people
Love the wide variety of guests! Especially the fact that he is open to having people of faith on the show.
My husband and I went to see the movie on opening day. It was amazing! The quality of the film was top notch. We were very impressed. Plus, the message of the movie is so impactful. What a wonderful example of redemption. The ripple effects of Phil Robertson’s conversion is amazing! Highly recommend!
I just subscribed to JP on YT. Saw this episode with the Robertson. Oh so sweet!
Love Duck Dynasty.
We love these people. Thanks Jordan.
Love the Robertson, am going to go see this movie in theaters and support them
Hello 👋🏻, how are you doing? 🌹🌹
I never thought these folks would cross paths. I am so glad they did!!!
Jordan Peterson is a gift and so is the Robertson family. Willy crying is just amazing
Brothers always make a story.
They have helped preserve decency in our country and yes I love their faith
I frequently run across an elderly fella that went to school with Phil.
Said he's proud of him for finding faith
It takes time for some to find the right path to follow.
Ive been looking for dvds of the series. Its silly and setup but we just loved watching it. I love that they stood up for their faith too. I found the dvds and we started watching this week. And then synchronisity kicked in and this popped up today. 😊
My two favorite families colliding for an episode, my heart is full! ❤
Great interview! I am about to go binge-watch Duck Dynasty now!
Was wondering if and when we would get an interview with any of the duck dynasty crew. Thank you to everyone involved here! God bless!
Now we need one with uncle Si!
A family that respects each other..We WANTED it to be true. Thank God is was. It gives hope to the dysfunction in so many families. I loved everything about it.
Hello 👋🏻, how are you doing? 🌹🌹
Love to see a follow up episode with Phil Robertson himself
As a health teacher, every single round of 8th graders that came into my classroom saw that episode of Phil giving "the talk" to John Luke and his girlfriend. It was everything that needed to be said 🤷🏽♀️😂
Didn’t expect to be interested in this episode because I’ve never seen the show but wow! Really interesting. I see why their show was successful, they’re so lovable!
May God bless all of these families. Thank you all for this conversation.
3 people I love but never thought I'd see in the same room 🤷♀️
I guess they're not in the same room lol but you know what I mean 🤷♀️
My husband just sent me the trailer to watch - it looks amazing! Intense, but a amazing story of redemption. The actors look tremendous!
I’m a pastor and I was pleased to hear how Jordan keeps a file of all of his writings that don’t ‘make the cut.’ The only difference is that I call mine “chaff.” 😁
The interview makes sense. Jordan wants social stability that comes out of work, family, and faith. It is easy to mock, but Western society stands on the shoulders of simple moral people that make the system function.
This was so good. I really enjoyed it. Love the Robertson’s
Thank you. This was so pleasant to watch.
