I googled Flying Flea history... Amazing! never knew Thank you for that! I like how RE actually uses the motor cowling cover to resemble a single cylinder engine IMO really adds to the overall look of the bike. Great video! Ready for more..😊
❤️ So glad you enjoyed the Flying Flea history! It’s super cool how they designed it to look like a single cylinder engine-definitely gives it that vintage charm! 🏍️ Thanks for the love, and stay tuned for more fun! You rock! 🤘😊
Kinda reminds me of the Honda Solo . If you like electric bikes or not this is what we will all be rideing in a few years .No good crying about it .looking good Saffy 😄😋😚
My Ouija board says Philip Vincent approves the front fork. I bet he wishes he'd had access to that casting technology in 1950. It really does look a lot more like a mini-Vincent than an original FF.
Girder forks? There is a reason that they were replaced by telescopics 75 years ago. They're forged by the way, it would be difficult to keep the unsprung weight down with a casting.
Interesting design. 🤔 Of course the first thing I'd like to know is the range per charge, and how quick a recharge is. RE has been working on a prototype electric Himalayan, and you can't do proper ADV touring without decent range. So perhaps this little flea has benefited from lessons learned with the Himalayan development.
Electric bikes are usually heavier, the heaviness of the batteries is one of the reasons they're limited by range at the moment but you hardly notice the weight because the power and torque is so instantaneous
@ thanks! Was considering whether to try out an electric bike for zipping about town on errands and for fun on the local track! Glad this popped up on my radar.
Wow Saffy - lovely to see your smiling face 1st thing in the morning! The FF looks great and I'm whilst the guys at Maeving are probably most worried, I can see this succeeding where Livewire has so far failed. Small, light EBs make good sense - especially in urban areas - and it's going to be interesting to see how this bold, innovative design fares in the future.
Yes! They said they're going to focus on 300-700cc bikes, with the idea of it being a 'city-plus' bike. So you can ride it around cities, but also take small 1 hour kinda day trips outside of the city, he gave the example of Lake Como!
it looks very future orientated... whilst having a nod to the flying flea, this is just a first step... bigger and better bikes will undoubtedly follow... the duel sport version looks as good as this one... now they need to create a parachute type dust cover and respect to the former flea will be complete... may i suggest a GT250 Continental as inspiration for a faster and larger Electric machine... (it was a cafe racer)
@@SaffySprocket I'm really not into EVs but if I was ever in the market for one just for commuting around town, this would be right up there on my list.
Aesthetically it looks great doesn't it. The problem with electric bikes is that skinny, usually means a small battery pack aka small range. As a motorcyclist and also a designer it occurs to me that electric motorcycles need to be built around a larger capacity battery, rather than being built to look what we all see as a traditional motorcycle. Building a battery pack to the same size and scale of an internal combustion engine in the frame just doesn't leave enough space for a decent amount of batteries to give any kind of range. I would imagine this bike will have a range somewhere between 50 and 80 miles, and that will be on a summers day with a small rider.
I always think it's a shame that all the electric bike companies don't work together to create a standardised system where people could pull up somewhere and swap the battery out for a ready charged one
Gees from being stuck in the mud to the Milan bike show. Not sure how long the real life time difference is, but here on the channel it was a day or so.
I was in Spain for a month, came home and then flew out to Milan, I still have about 15 month Spain videos 😅 gets a bit confusing for you guys I'm sure! I just can't edit fast enough!
Flying Flea is not my choice, I Guess It is a CiyBike Design Saffy. I am just waiting for your (RE) presentation of E-Himalayan and maybe E-Srambler tomorrow. 😊 Hopefully low price and long range for Oslo-Nordkapp riders !
Totally get you on the Flying Flea! City bikes can be super fun, but I’m all about that adventure! 🌍 Unfortunately the E-Scrambler wasn't at the show, it's still in production! Fingers crossed for that low price and long range! 🤞✨ Keep riding!
Tank you for quick answer, continue the good work in Milano.I just saw your Bear 650 review. Hopefully you can charm RE Ceo to be their testdriver for E-bikes in Europe 🎉😊
Good evening saffy, you are looking very nice out of your bike gear, did I see you with a glass of alcohol 🍸 as I know you said you don't drink or just one of your energy drinks in a posh glass 😅, Have a lovely time in Milan and look after yourself, Best wishes Roy 😊.
I'm extremely pro-electric bike, but after slowly making the move to off-road, I've become a little nervous at the idea of electric instead I was stranded somewhere. However at the launch party, Royal Enfield made a really great point about electric bikes being more for cities and small day trips outside of the city (They called it City plus) so I think when the time comes, I'll be getting an electric but around the town and petrol for the sticks
There aren't a lot of specs for the bike yet, it's still in concept mode but they've described the bike as 'city plus' with the idea that you can ride around the city and take small day trips outside of the city too. They have the example of Milan to Lake Como as an example
I think the electric industry is slowly catching up on the range for the petrol bikes, I think range isn't so much of an issue anymore, the issue is charging times. Most bikers can only ride as long as their bladder can hold 😂 but then being sat around for an hour waiting for your bike to charge would be a pain
"lets have a closer look at it" followed by endless selfie shots and then weird close ups which give no idea of the overall appearance, size, weight etc. You revealed ZERO information on the bike.
I don't think so! I just think there is a massive lack of infrastructure at the moment. I think once we crack battery life and charging, then the industry will explode!\
I would be more impressed if they dropped it out of an aircraft without a parachute this time , probably made out of old melted down washing machines. 😁😎
Without a doubt the best looking electric bike I've seen so far, lets hope its range & performance match its looks in the real world.
Royal Enfield's strength has always been the look of their bikes. Every single one of them is beautiful! I've never found an RE bike that looks ugly!

Maybe look a bit harder, that looks like an American kids bicycle from 70 years ago, retro 1953 Schwinn no less! Probably about as fast as well.
1st electric bike that I’ve paid any attention to. I like it’s futuristic and at the same time Classic look. Quite cool actually.
Basing it on a WW2 Paratroopers bike certainly provides a macho edge to an electric bike. Well done for making good use of RE history.
It's really cool isn't it?!
It’s nothing like the real Flying Flea!
It is rather cool though!
Holy cow, a little beauty. RE is really doing good stuff at the moment.
I think so too! They really stole the show before the show even started aha!
The very first electric vehicle that I would want to have. Gorgeous.

Nice to see Royal Enfield reviving another old name. A quick Google shows that they revived the name in 2018 too, which I'd forgotten about.

Is it lighter than a regular bike on account of not having an engine? I reckon the battery isnt as heavy. Wonder how it handles.
