PLO, Mbarire War of Words

Kenya Anti Corruption Commission Director Prof PLO Lumumba has accused Tourism Assistant Minister Cecily Mbarire and her husband of attempting to bribe him in efforts to stop the ongoing investigations into allegations of corruption in the Ministry of Water. Lumumba says the couple tried to bribe him with 100,000 shillings and were scheduled to meet at Integrity House at 6.30 yesterday morning where a trap had already been set up for them. However, the plan failed when according to Lumumba, the couple failed to show up for the meeting probably after being tipped off. In response, Mbarire initially called for a news conference at Parliament buildings in the evening but cancelled at the last minute instead dispatching a statement to newsrooms, terming Lumumba's claims as false and malicious. The Mbarire-Lumumba story must compel the journalists to pose the correct question that they have hitherto ignored or feared to ask. Is there a conflict of interests between PLO Lumumba’s job at KACCA and the PLO and Lucy Onono Foundation? This is the question that must compel PLO Lumumba to resign. How many people have made donations to PLO and Lucy Onono Foundation and what are their names? And is cash payment a means by Lumumba to hide the identity of the donors? These are fat questions!!
