    Thank you so much! Been working with synths for years, and I'm still wrapping my head around stuff like ring mod, your video helped me. Also, loooove that guitar solo at the end.

    A big THANK YOU for showing the pedal in a musical context (very cool btw)! Demos of oddities like this are much more useful if they include examples of how to use them in music, like yours did.

    I love the technical explanation behind this. I'm a long-time guitarist who's been getting into synthesis, so this kind of thing is right up my alley.

    I saw one of these down the street in a used shop here in Japan for about $175. I'm tempted to pick it up and your video helped quite a bit about understanding how the Moog MF-102 can be used. It's been sitting in the glass case for almost 3 months so I figured it was because it wasn't any good or perhaps more realistically people just did't understand how to use it. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.

    I have a question about guitar ring modulators that no RUclipsr presenting them has managed to answer. My question is this: What is happening exactly when I tune a guitar note so I can hear it at the RM's output? This is logically impossible since the RM's output is ONLY the sum and difference of my guitars frequency and the RM's internal oscillator MEANING the two input frequencies are not present anymore. SO how come I can still somehow hear the frequency of my note? Thank you.

    Even though that does sound like a very superior ring modulator I've never found ring modulation to be usable effect. Great for imitating daleks though.
    PS. A typo in my original typing of this comment led me to invent the term Rig Modulator - I'm copyrighting that so don't all you effects manufacturers out there go nicking it.

    • @TheSweetFix
      @TheSweetFix  7 лет назад +2

      I think the key to making it usable is finding ways to reign it in-my favorite technique is to use an expression pedal to control the mix, and then bleeding in the effect only when I bend notes. Also Rig Modulator sounds dope.

    thanks man, you're cool. Hey I've been having trouble with my moog expression pedal, I don't know if it's me or the pedal but I can't seem to hear the difference with the pedal =( some help would be cool, thanks. great videos both of them I agree in everything

    • @TheSweetFix
      @TheSweetFix  7 лет назад +1

      Make sure you're using a TRS cable to connect it (not a standard instrument cable), and make sure the knob on the right side is rolled as far as it can go clockwise. Also, where are you plugging it into the ring modulator?

    • @masterhousestudios
      @masterhousestudios 7 лет назад +1

      cool thanks, appreciate it.. Indeed I was using a mono cable, that's probably what happened.

    • @masterhousestudios
      @masterhousestudios 7 лет назад

      the knob is already like that but in the standard position it works weird in the one that says other it goes from dry to wet, is that normal?

    • @spankydispanks
      @spankydispanks 7 лет назад

      This is my real profile if you wanna check out my music.. cheers!

    • @TheSweetFix
      @TheSweetFix  7 лет назад

      I'm not sure I understand your question about the knob and dry/wet. But if you use plug the expression pedal into "Mix," then what should normally happen is the pedal will control how dry or wet the effect is-and the position of the actual Mix knob on the pedal itself will set the minimum.
