I would love to see a "no-buy no-kill month" challenge where you don't buy anything and instead try to take extra good care of the plants you have and don't lose any due to neglect for a month :D
I’m loving these plant care videos ♥️
You got screwed on that Monstera. I don't know what you traded but wow. One thing you should always do is pull the plant out of the pot to check the root system, even if you are buying it from a nursery. I learned this the hard way by buying a scindapsus from a reputable nursery and got home to repot it and discovered it was freshly cut cuttings stuck in soil. Needless to say, I took it back. I sell some of my plants occasionally and if they don't have an extensive root system, I advertise them as semi-rooted.
Thats a good idea
I really hope the girl that traded you that monstera wasn't aware of what she was trading, and that it wasn't intentional. That would be absolutely awful. The Monstera is going to be so much happier! Also, I just love seeing hoya
It's very normal for vining plants to have a few plants in the same pot to make it bushier. They have roots so I wouldn't call them cuttings anymore, one it has roots it's a plant.
If you don’t mind me asking, why do you dry the plant out ? I’ve never done it that way so I’m very curious !
I'm not Ashley but I've had to do this as well.
Drying it out can kill whatever is eating the Roots; it thrives in moisture. It also means you can get the roots more encouraged to suck up any fungicide you apply.
Not every plant can handle drying out, but pothos, Scindapsus, thaumatophyllum, most ficus, and philodendron do pretty well drying out.
I love plant care videos because they motivate me to do my own plant care lol I also love how you've been incorporating your plants into your space. That's how I style my plants and I enjoy them so much more. I love the planty nooks in my House!
Sammeeee

Thanks for always sharing your experiences! I appreciate your content. I look forward to it!
Ashley! I watched this video as soon as it posted and IMMEDIATELY I knew what I was facing. I have a huge Monstera that was a gift from me to my father for Father's day in 2020. He passed that December to covid and this plant means everything to me. I'd seen it been pushing out tons of new growth BUT it's all smaller and smaller and then it was getting droopy even though it had been watered and good humidity. So I thought OMG it HAS to be root rot. The soil looks to be too heavy and I thought it needed a bigger pot. Yesterday I took it out and sure enough, root rot due to the too heavy soil! After removing all the dead or dying roots, thankfully there were still plenty left to sustain the plants and I removed the 2 smallest plants in the pot and left the 3 big ones and it easily fit back in the old pot. I used MY soil mixture for aroids and hopefully it saves "Dave" (named after my dad) and he will be happy and continue to grow bigger and stronger.
So thank you so so much for these care videos you've been doing. You just helped save something that means everything to someone you don't even know. And that says a lot about you. ❤
I am all about tossing that SOH in that IDGAF moment. Love it. If it isn't working, it isn't worth my time, especially if it is my third try with a plant. Great video. I've been binging old ones and loving them.
How do you go about asking for a discount on a poor looking plant? I’d love to rescue plants when I find them, but they’ve still got the big price tag.
I dont ask at locally owned plant shops hut at big box stores i point out how theyre sad and ask for a discount
Exactly everyone plant care is different and what doesn't work for others might work for you and that's okay 💚🌿
My silver dollar vine literally only grows in the spring/summer and absolutely nothing any other time. March will be when it starts to grow more stem.
this video has such an early ashley vibe, it really reminds me of your first videos of 3 years ago which is so nostalgic and lovely
That casual throw 🤣🤣🤣 I had to rewind for a sec. I've been there. 13:17
Loving your new videos, love seeing how you rehab your plants would love to see how much you water them after your repot them!! Have a great day sweetheart!!!🪴❤💚❤💚🪴
Your monstera in the back is getting huge!
You said my fu*king bad word you shocked me 😂
No more grow tent? Love your videos btw💚
I’ve been wanting to tell you I love how long and blonde you hair is!! 💘
Thank you!
The only downside to rehab videos - having to wait patiently for updates! 😊🌱
Bro i agreeeee
i dont tend to wait till that point to water
I love the plant care videos I am excited to see the rehab updates!
Does Botanicaz use LiquiDirt? Curious why they/you would use a soil+moss combo for nutrition if LiquiDirt has everything a plant needs. Plant food is such an interesting topic!
I've left plants bottom watering for 3 days, quite a few times. Sometimes I start watering and then I don't have the energy/spoons to keep going. Obviously leaving them for so long isn't recommended as it should never take that long to saturate the soil BUT it isn't going to be detrimental if it happens every now and then, in most cases. Even my succulents keep thriving so it isn't the end of the world.
🌿💚
I wish I could show you the marble queen pothos I found at Walmart today. I could not believe it.
Last summer I started watering my plants like that either in a tray or just in their cache pots and soaking them. omg it is so much easier for me and they've been so much happier. Made me realize how much more water my spider plants can take and put out so much more growth, love all the vids
Just love your vids 💕
This was super relaxing after a stressful day!!
Thanks :)
Thank you Ashley, that’s how you get it done yeah just do it
Thanks for showing us that
I love plant care, repots and propagation videos!
💚🌿
I also never really clean my sheers… occasionally I throw them in the dishwasher but that’s about as far as it goes lol
