I’ve found in craft stores, there are lots of doll eyes and interesting beads. You can get small ball bearings as well. They are stainless steel and I have some that are a millimeter in size on up. Really like these quick idea sharing videos. :)
Thanks, yeah I talk about various things like this in my vids, but they're usually buried in a 15 minute video, so I think some shorter ones about specific topics would probably be useful.
I sometimes use buttons that are supposed to be teddybear eyes and create an eyeball out of white fimo. I create a hole with a balltool thingy and put in the teddy eye as iris and pupil. Bake it and you have a decent eye.
I would love to buy some already made eyes but I haven't found any yet that were good enough and reasonably priced. Never checked the site you use though I think. I use those glass domes in various sizes and make my pupil design with polymer clay. I know some people print eyes on paper and use the glass domes. I haven't tried that yet though. I may someday but I really do like making the eye myself with clay. I can choose more what I want for each individual that way. :) I have watched a lot of videos on making custom eyes though so maybe someday will try something completely different. - Heidi
One tip if you do try the printing method and will be using a glass dome - don't print eyes with the white highlights on them. The glass dome will create those highlights for the most part so having them printed just makes it confusing. At least that is my opinion anyway. Feel free to try it out both ways and see what you like best. :D
What size eye's do you find most effective to use on a life size silicone casting of a bust/head? Would you go for 22mm or 24mm? (Size in relation to Glasseyes.com) Cheets
If you're going for a realistic look wikipedia indicates human eyes have an average diameter of 24mm en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_eye#Size However if your sculpture is more sylised then you can vary that to get the effect you want. I've often gone for larger eyes if you want a friendly or cartoony look and smaller for a more sinister/evil look.
The Dark Power I have a bog standard set of shapers thunk they are actually something to do with cake making.... hard to come by decent sets like that. I'll look into metal shapers then!
Love the idea of using the dapping tools to create a graduated set of eye molds. Simple and brilliant. Thanks.
Thanks! :)

Thanks! Yeah I always have a look to see what I can find. Some coloured beads make great monster eyes.
Very helpful videos, man. I subscribed right away. Thanks, & keep up the great work
Thanks for watching!
Can you bake the larger eyes if filled with resin?
The ones I've used are quite fragile - they were thin blown glass. Filling them with resin might work but I could imagine them cracking.
Ooh something a little different. I would like to see more videos like this in the future

I don't even need eyes for anything at the moment but still find it an interesting tidbit to file away for future reference.
Thank you, I'll buy there.
I'm a french canadian and it's hard for us to find some tricks for sulpting... (no sculpture class). Thanks very mutch to give us your's.
Thanks for watching!

Ah, good idea - I'm sure there are loads of different ways of doing it, so it'll be interesting to hear how different people tackle it.

They're actually metal tools, but kinda handy nontheless ;)
