About the Artist
Tasha B.'s musical journey began at the tender age of six, under the tutelage of her grandmother, who introduced her to the piano. Her formal training in voice and piano took place at Mr. Summons School of Music and Rose Cabbagestalk School of Music in Plainfield. She completed her private studies at Rutgers Mason Gross Extension Division by the age of 16. After attending Rutgers, Tasha started writing her own music, inspired by her first heartbreak, and was encouraged by friends and family to continue.
With her grandmother's support, Tasha began arranging and producing her own music. She furthered her musical education at Rowan University, studying music production, piano, and music business. After two years, Tasha decided to leave school to pursue music full time, which led her to Atlanta, Georgia. Living on her cousin’s couch, she developed her sense of self and presented her music to various labels and artists, despite initial setbacks.
Encouraged by her former manager and mentors to focus on making instrumentals, Tasha found success with her music being featured on major television networks including BET, MTV, and Showtime. Now, after years of hard work and perseverance, she is releasing her original music independently. Tasha says, "The timing feels right. I am excited to see how people respond."
