Rogue likes are an amazing example of replay value. There are so many different roguelikes between all genres and they all offer countless hours of content. That's their main goal after all, to offer countless hours of content with no two runs being the exact same. Hades and Risk of Rain 2 are my favorites but there are so many amazing ones out there.
@@Who1e It's a really fun game with an amazing story, which is something I don't think many rogue likes have. I definitely think it's worth your time and money, and if you happen to love the game then you won't be waiting too long for it's sequal.
Ooo this is fun. As someone into game design (board game side-I know nothing about video games lol) I always like to learn about video games and their balance
1400 hours on ark. 1500 hours on sea of thieves. 1000 hours on battlebit remastered(best game). 1000 hours on ow2. 800 on val. 500 on csgo. This is at the top of my head, not even mentioning the stupid mobile games.
Dark Souls? BG3? You’re like me but with a better accent… On a more serious note, a game doesn’t need to be replayable to be good. Replayability is ONE of the measures you can use to judge a game, but even still, a game without a lot of replayability isn’t bad. My two examples are Hollow Knight and Mario Odyssey. They aren’t super long games, and they are only kinda replayable, but the quality of the first playthrough vastly outshines the lack of replayability. Both are in my top ten favorite games anyway, because replayability wasn’t the goal.
Damn, I’m so stressed, hope this does well
Nah bubsey 3D was kinda mid
@@Jelly_shy_guy_man blasphemy
I belib in you bröötha
Outer Wilds (WILDS, NOT WORLDS) is a good example of a game with literally 0 (zero) replayability and its still a masterpiece.
You can defo have games with 0 replayability that are amazing, like red dead 2, but man, I love RPGs with hella good replayability
@@Who1e same! I'm on like my 8th replay of fallout 4
500 hours into rdr2, can confirm that replay value is very important
Love this video! Replayability is a really interesting balance to strike in game design, was cool to see your take on it.
I really enjoy this one, what always strikes me about your videos is how well spoken you are, so I think this sort of video is very fitting.
2:25 is a lie
I've played wow with Whoie before.
Nope, I win bye bye

So... What you're saying is... I should go and replay the Portal franchise right this instant...
Welp, sorry homework, my hands are tied! /j
Portal is forever, homework is temporary
Haven't watched full video yet, but I think challenges can help, like Nuzlockes with pokemon!
I plan on doin more challenges dw, the next vid will be a challenge run
Any game is replayable if your standards are low enough

My minimum requirement is 3 hours per pound the game costs.
The first comment was just for shit and giggles so I'm writing another. Whoie you should make a video/stream about Titanfall 2. It's amazing
You don’t have a problem. Baldurs gate 3 is the solution.

Exactly, replayability isn’t everything, matters to some more than others
NOT FIRST
I'm a little disappointed to see only 3D (and primarily AAA) games mentioned, but good points regardless.
I’m not that well versed in the indie scene, plus the games I play are primarily RPGs, I prolly should branch out more
