Beautiful bike. Ill be moving to USA in feb next year and Im def getting a CRF 300. Unless I can get an already used sumo conversion, I might settle for the dual sport for some time until im comfortable to start converting it slowly.
Hello, greetings. What beautiful bikes. The finish they give to these beautiful bikes is incredible. How much would a set of gold rims with blue horns cost me?
Agreed. These bikes are a blast once converted to more of a street tire setup. If you ride your 450L/RL a lot on the street, you definitely need to consider SM wheels/tires. The handling difference compared to the 21/18 off-road setup is pretty substantial.
@@SRmotousa I bet it's a great SM bike. I had a WR450 set up SM. No matter what I did, I always knew I was riding a dirt bike on the street. I bet the Honda is so much better
About an inch, maybe a bit more. Really helps with lowering the overall center of gravity of the bike. Handles better, and the lower seat height is a big plus too.
The forged tubeless wheels are only available with the cush drive rear hub. We've been using them on all of our 450L's, even the bike that has the spoked SM wheels. I think it's worth it on these 450's.
No issues. For the guys having the problem you mentioned, are they running an aftermarket chain that's too wide? The first EK chain we installed on our bike rubbed just behind the countershaft sprocket, so we switched to this slightly narrower DID chain and haven't had any rubbing issues... soloracer.com/did520ervt.html You can also put a spacer behind the countershaft sprocket to push it out a bit.
Bought a set of warp 9 supermotos but it has the wrong conversion kit for the front caliper, any chance SR sells just the relocation bracket for the 2021? Checked out the site and couldn’t find it
The Element has those traction strips on it best I remember... not too comfortable for a street ridden SM. We prefer the Comfort XL's for sure, but if you want something "agressive looking" than that Element is probably the way to go.
For this bike, we liked the look of the mag style wheel, and also the fact that it's tubeless. Check out that bike in it's latest incarnation here... www.srmoto.com/honda-crf450l-crf450rl-supermoto-conversion-retro-red-and-white.html
If you want quiet, I'd recommend the FMF Q4 with MegaBomb header. If you want a bit louder, the Yoshimura RS-4 is a real nice system. Performance-wise, they are both pretty close. soloracer.com/crf450xfmfq4.html soloracer.com/crf450xrs4fs.html
The ones we got are from UFO. They aren't a perfect fit. The 2021 CRF450RL comes with red side number plates, so I'd probably just order a set of those from Honda.
Nope, front tire is mounted correctly per the rotation arrows on the sidewall. If you look at many front tires, the tread will appear to be "backwards" compared to the rear tire, but that's the way they are supposed to be mounted.
I like the look of spoked wheels, but don't like the tubes for pure street riding. On one of our DRZ400SM's we've installed Warp 9's spoked tubeless wheels, and so far really loving them. We will have a set on one of our CRF450L supermotos next year once that tubeless option is available again from Warp 9.
Bought all my parts from you after watching this, thanks again and looking forward to doing more business in the future. 👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼 -Jon

I'm surprised Honda hasn't made a SM version yet. Your bike is bad ass

Looking good Brett. Keep the videos coming, very informative showing how all the components can work together and add up to a great bike build.
Awesome build
Outstanding unscripted video. Nice job and great bike
out of curiosity how much did the 17" wheels drop the seat height?
About an inch, maybe a bit more. Really helps with lowering the overall center of gravity of the bike. Handles better, and the lower seat height is a big plus too.
Love it, great build🤘
Nice!!!
Beautiful Beautiful..... 👍🤩👍
I would love a bike like this
Save your pennies
Would you recommend getting the cush drive with a set of warp 9 rims? Love the videos/website btw, super helpful.
The forged tubeless wheels are only available with the cush drive rear hub. We've been using them on all of our 450L's, even the bike that has the spoked SM wheels. I think it's worth it on these 450's.
Nice build! Was wondering how visible those turn signals are for drivers w how small they are?
They are small, but super bright. I don't think anybody misses them from a visibility standpoint.
excellent... video, love the bike quick question how much lower those the seat height changes by going with the supermoto wheels?thanks.
Roughly an inch, maybe a little bit more. We use a 150/60-17 rear tire.
Any chain slap issues with the 46 tooth sprocket? Got guys with 47-48 claiming it hit their crank case causing it to need a full rebuild

You'd need to get that directly from Warp 9.
What the difference between the comfort seat XL vs the element. I want the most aggressive looking seat for the road that is comfortable?
The Element has those traction strips on it best I remember... not too comfortable for a street ridden SM. We prefer the Comfort XL's for sure, but if you want something "agressive looking" than that Element is probably the way to go.
I have no idea, why aluminum rims over spokes? I see most with spokes.

Nice motor Honda CFR 450RL
Where did you purchase the red side side panels?
Those are OEM Honda side number plates from a 2022 CRF450RL.
Where can I get me a set of them rims
Check the project bike page for all the details: soloracer.com/crf450rlsm.html
I just picked up a 22 CRF450RL, do you have any thoughts one way or the other about exhaust? Yosh or FMF?
If you want quiet, I'd recommend the FMF Q4 with MegaBomb header. If you want a bit louder, the Yoshimura RS-4 is a real nice system. Performance-wise, they are both pretty close.

@@SRmotousa thanks for your reply. I ordered the Yoshimura today. ;)
Did you got after market plastics for crf450x or rl?
Here ya go.... soloracer.com/crf450lredplst.html
What side panel number plates are those? I want to make mine full red too

Is this faster than the Suzuki? Stock vs stock?
Yes, in the US, the CRF450L?RL is going to a bit more powerful and faster than a DRZ400, if that's what you're asking.
Is it me or does it look like the front tire rotation is incorrect?
Nope, front tire is mounted correctly per the rotation arrows on the sidewall. If you look at many front tires, the tread will appear to be "backwards" compared to the rear tire, but that's the way they are supposed to be mounted.
Isn't it typical for a supermoto to have a 16" front, 17" rear?
Nah
Most street supermotos have 17" front, but some of the track only bikes from KTM and Husky will have a 16 or 16.5 front.
I absolutely hate spoke wheels they are pointless for street riding
I like the look of spoked wheels, but don't like the tubes for pure street riding. On one of our DRZ400SM's we've installed Warp 9's spoked tubeless wheels, and so far really loving them. When you want a supermoto but you ride a kx85 :(
