I read the book and SPOILER I was frustrated that Colin noticed Pen only because she begged him to the you know that scene from her mothers drawing room. Pen is so wonderful. Colin didn’t see her before he noticed but didn’t see her. I’m happy that the ending was so amazing. I love them together but damn I just wish he would’ve seen her before. Doesn’t matter now and I love this song choice for them.

I like the plot shonda came up with that Colin helps Pen land a man and realizes his love. Cause it adds to Pen being desirable and we need that. Not her to be desperate.

I was hoping this would not turn into a general rom com type of thing. Their story is beautiful because he finally sees her when she starts being herself, when she is not afraid that she will hurt his feelings and pride. I love that there is no antagonist in their coming together. As a book fan I would love for to stay, but I know that for the show they had to change it. Just wish they did not quite change so much about them. I am actively trying to forget S1. Book Colin would never and I stand by that opinion. Seeking validation by proposing to the new shiny thing that he does not even know? Please...

People tends to blame Colin but he’s sweet, yeah he doesn’t love her the way she does yet. But he could’ve just cut her off but he doesn’t because he cares about her. We can’t blame him, I think he does the best he can as a friend.. So, can’t wait to see him fall in love with Penelope fr 😍 May is too far away!!!
The more I watch clips of this the more I wonder if they had Nicola gain weight / wear extra padding or something for this role because she doesn't look as big in Derry Girls. My assumption is they made her a little heavier so when she loses a little weight later she will be at her natural weight.
@@TheSecretRebelGirl Could be. It just hasn't been that long, even in interview video of her she doesn't look as big as she does in the show. It could be the style of clothing though, it's not the most flattering style for most figures.
i agree with you. I think they padded her up cause she is supposed to be 2 stone heavier in her first season and her natural weight is less than she appears here. So once she loses the weight for her second season it would closely resemble her natural weight
they also have her dress cut at her breast, not underneath, which makes her look bigger + her breast are pushed up too high (this part i hope is on purpose so that it isn’t just the costume department not knowing how to dress a slightly bigger woman 🤷🏻♀️).
as a book fan I have to say I detest the plot line with Marina. I understand they need to change the stories a little for the media of TV, but this was so out of character for Colin that it makes no sense to me. Plus it made Pen look jealous when she printed her LW about Marina`s pregnancy even though she did it to save him from being trapped. It also makes Colin look immature, impulsive and very very naive.
