Apparently back when wit was making season 2 for the anime one animator took note of the levi chase scene, and asked if he could start working on it early. So he did. That scene was started around the season 2
He was around 20 when he joined which I assume after the starting of the show because Erwin was not the commander at that time and it has been around 9 years up until the starting of season 4 so I assume he is around 29-30 in season 4 same age as Zeke(30-31)

Of course, the ethnic appearances in AoT are usually far, far more obvious even to us, so when we see Levi with his narrower eyes and black hair, especially with Jean's obsession over Mikasa's black hair, we immediately connect him to being some sort of Asian. And anyway, so much has happened up to this point in the anime, unless you cling to details like a nerd (I am a nerd), most people are on the, "Ackerman? That's a cool last name. ..........wait, you're saying that's Mikasa's last name too?!" bandwagon. So much happens that it's all easy-to-miss footnotes.
The flying couple are Armin's parents, but I can't recall when did he mention exactly that his parents are trying to fly outside the walls. It was hinted somewhere in the first season I guess
He just mentions that his parents were going outside the walls soon. And then a couple episodes later he says in his dialogue trying to wake Eren up in his titan why did he want to go outside the walls even after his parents died a horrible death - why even though he knows stepping outside the walls means going into hell. It's never been explicitly stated how his parents died. It was really up to us to put the pieces together. (Probably because in the manga his parents died with his grandpa on the mission to reclaim wall maria. They probably didnt wanna add dialogue about it in the anime that explicity invalidates this, just for the manga readers)
Nice catch with the surnames, Levi and Mikasa have the same surname but they aren't siblings as you saw in the OVA. On another note, remember how season 1 had the post-credit scene? Season 3 has extra scenes, too. Episodes 3x11, 3x12, 3x19, and 3x22 have additional content, so be sure to watch the credits for those ones.

The scene with Eren transforming in the last episode was cut down a good bit. What we see in the anime is him transforming for the 3rd time that day and he was getting progressively weaker with each one because he didn't have enough rest in between. The prior 2 transformations they were testing to see what Eren could do as a titan. They also said He can't talk as a titan because of how his mouth is structured

From what I have heard after S2 was initially not as popular as people expected, the fighting scene with Levi at the beginning of this episode was one of the main reasons this show got popular again. The animator who worked on this scene has a video on YT showcasing the key animation he did. If I remember correctly this scene took him 1 month to make, there is also another scene later on in the show for which he asked for premission to stark working on it earlier than the rest of the team, way before they even worked on that particular episode to begin with, it took him 3 months to animate.
Heres cool thing Idk if you noticed. So when they were torturing the MP guy, he started listing off the ppl they killed to protect society or some shit. Well, he mentions killing a couple who tried to leave on a hot air ballon....have you guys ever wondered...Where are Armins parents? Btw, this isnt a spoiler, its just something you have to be paying super close attention to to piece together.
Man now the interior police killing people who wanted to leave isn't nearly as bad when you think about the consequences there would've been if somebody made it across the sea

Also, Historia is sort of like john snow since ive heard you guys reference GoT. So basically, she was forced to join the scouts to banish her with a high probability of death. think of the scouts as taking the black or being sent to the wall. they sent her there to die.
I honestly really like this arc a lot for what it brings to the table. Before the titans were these giant beings who seemed to eat for the hell of it. They seemed pretty malicious and no one had a problem killing them. Only recently was the idea of titans being trapped in an endless nightmare brought to the table by Ymir and Connie's Mother. And very few people are aware of this possibility. But now with fighting living people with goals, personalities, and families, things become much more complex. And the characters are experiencing moral dilemmas if killing people who feel that they might be just as justified is right. Someone like Armin who is always about peace and trying to talk things out was willing to do anything to save Jean. Also, it was nice to see Mikasa care about Armin and Jean. Giving her moments with other characters besides Eren is something she really needs. And this is only the beginning of the season.
Maybe I am weird for this but I really would have liked it a lot if Levi was actually asian as well idk but to me he always looked asian and I always liked that idea but I guess it would not have made much sense aside from the whole Ackermann heritage thing just by looks people would have commented on Levi and Mikasa looking similar to each other, more than the others.
Remember to watch the ending song on the last episode of season 3 part 1 and don’t let others tell you not to , because it’s an incredible tease for part 2 that shouldn’t be missed. If you don’t I riot
I think it's much better to not watch it. It takes away surprise factor, same as with the previews of episodes. I didn't watch it myself for that very same reason and watched it after finishing season 3 and I'm glad I skipped it when I did cause it's way too much in the nose if you pay attention (and I pay attention). But to each their own tho.

I just don't like the "preview" type of thing where they show you actual important climactic scenes, that are going to happen, out of context for no reason in particular to the plot (tho if it has meaning plot-wise to be seeing them early then I'm totally fine with it). That's why I also tend to avoid trailers. But I can understand if other people like it and that it hypes them up. I just wanted to say that depending on the type of person you are it can take away a bit of the surprise factor and make certain things more predictable (which, for me, is not enjoyable).

Mikasa is the only Asian. Levi isn't Asian. Ackerman was her fathers side(white). So her moms side was Asian. They are related through the (white) Ackerman side not the Asian side. That confused the eff out of me for a long time because levi looks pretty possibly Asian but nah he isn't.
