@TateenAquino The Apogee is the better choice in functionality but the Yeti is better in actual recording quality. With an adjustable polar pattern you can change the way the Yeti records your audio. The benefit of the Apogee is that it can be connected to an iPad or iPhone to be used in mobile recording. If the recording is done in a set location than I would suggest the more capable Yeti Pro USB & XLR microphone, which has the adjustable polar patterns for pro recording quality.
@Matthew Lynch This is a general purpose mic that shines best on vocals and acoustic instruments.. I would be careful of overmodulation distortion with brass and percussion instruments. Finding the right distance for the mic to the instruments/ensemble and careful adjustment of your gain levels will be key. A little experimentation should pay off handsomely.
This microphone is not designed for use with a camera. It has a USB connection for connection directly to a computer. It's condenser element is also delicate and not built for mobile or outdoor use. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.
@SchneidRpro RESPONSE: The iPod Nano is not capable of working with USB microphones or app based software and utilities. So the Apogee MiC is not compatible. with your 4th generation iPod Nano.
@rdaffon23 A USB mic like the APOGEE ELECTRONICS MiC is not ideal for the typical video or teleconferencing call. It is designed for close mouth to mic proximity. Unless the conference call participant is a single person a conference microphone - Acoustic Magic Voice Tracker II Array Microphone (B&H # ACVTIIAM) is a better choice.
The Apogee MiC Studio Quality USB Microphone (B&H # APMIC) delivers professional, fully digital audio via its USB output for direct connection to your Mac, iPhone & iPad. It will record vocals, instruments and other audio sources with confidence and full fidelity. It cannot be connected to any other USB interface. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. MarkS
Great review as I'm the process of selecting a USB mic. Since I use a Mac this seems to be the most logical option for my needs although I'm also considering the Shure PG42-USB. Either way I enjoy purchasing my gear from B&H and no, I have no affiliation with the company other than being a frequent-flyer customer.
The Apogee MiC includes a desktop tripod stand but there is no shock mount available that will fit correctly. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.
You could use this mic for your particular application but I would definitely add a pop filter to reduce noise from aspirated plosives like "p" and "b" sounds. It will also protect your microphone from corrosive moisture (B&H # AUPFSS55). For very powerful vocals, adjust the talent's distance to the mic a few inches. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.
The Apogee MiC works with any Core Audio compatible application. Senal - SMH-1000 Closed-Back Professional Monitor Headphones - B&H# SESMH100 are a terrific value and performer. Marks. E-mail: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com
Although Apogee (or B&H) does not endorse or test specific apps, try it out. It will most likely work for you. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.

That's a Manfrotto model that we don't use any more; sorry we don't have the details on it.

Is this a good choice for ensemble and brass?
I have a question. Which is better? Blue Yeti Mic or Apogee Mic? For song recording.
Do you have any string cello sample recordings using the MiC?

Oh ok thanks. It helped me a lot :)

could i plug in the MiC to apogee 1 to get rid of the latency issue to monitor with headphones?
hi, can I use this mic for dslr video in exteriors? if I can, which FUR windscreen can I use?
what head/mount were you using in the beginning?
Does the Apogee mic work with Vocalive?
How about usb 3.0 on MacBook pro 2012?
It will work in the USB 3.0 port as the port is backwards compatible to USB 2.0 products.
