    I’m not sure what wrong but I’ve tried everything for my feet. Making sure I’m drinking enough water and having enough vitamins and nutrients to help my feet because my feet were aching and I felt like I was getting a foot cramp. Tried massages that was temporary relief and let me tell you it was a few seconds temporary. And I was losing a lot of sleep. Although my feet still hurt a little after doing this I felt a relief I haven’t felt in a while. I’m doing this everyday and telling as my people I can about this! Keep of the great work! ; )

    You probably moved your foot/toes in a way that it hasn't moved in a long time. Sometimes after massage and new movements our bodies are sore or hurt a bit worse. That is normal. It means you moved something that was important. When you are doing these techniques, it should feel good, or like a good hurt. Be gentle with yourself, don't force anything and it should continue to improve. If it does not and only gets worse, then you should make an appointment with a local physical therapist.

    Yes, it should help, as long as that is the correct diagnosis. Without seeing you in person it is impossible to be 100% sure. Hallux Limitus is a stiff big toe, or a hypo-mobile 1st metatarsal phalangeal joint, where the joint capsule and other tissues surrounding the joint have tightened up over time, and may be painful. Joint mobilization and movement helps joints increase range of motion and decrease pain in the joint. Good luck.

    That's fine. Some people will not be able to get their fingers in between their toes at first. you can start with just 1 or 2 fingers, then be sure to work the other toes too. Or start with your fingers barely in between your toes and gradually work on it over the course of time, even 1 or 2 months. As an alternative you can try using the foam spacers used for pedicures.

    These are such great, relaxing techniques (I tried it on tired but not painful feet) but I was wondering what I can do for a strained abductor digiti minimi? Are there any ways to massage it (it's the muscle that lifts your smallest toe and helps you balance)? I hate not being able to run! :[

  • @LeBauerPT
    @LeBauerPT  13 лет назад

    @taytay804 it definitely can help, but if you have recently had the surgery, you should follow your physician or podiatrists instructions and if you still have questions or lack range of motion, you should see a physical therapist who specializes in hands on manual physical therapy and myofascial release.

    You can try them, but be gentle. Movement is great for helping the body heal, but do not force anything. If the joint has active inflammation and it is hot, red and swollen, a dip in a tupperware container with ice water can feel really good before or even after these exercises.

    Stacy,
    Thanks for your comment and question. Without being able to see and touch what is going on in person, it is very difficult for me to give you the correct advice. Try the techniques in the above video after that I would suggest making an appointment with you local physical therapist/physiotherapist who specializes in manual therapy, runners, and myofascial release or other soft tissue treatment. Good luck, Dr. LeBauer

    Good Afternoon Dr LeBauer
    My daughter is an elite athlete, she is 13 years old and a sprinter, as a reflexologist I am always checking her feet and have now noticed that when she elevates up onto her toes she is not using the first phlangeal joint in her big toe and the weight bearing joint. She is using the outer edge of her foot. I would like your advice on manipulation or self help so that we can make her feet more flexible, both feet are affected. Your advice please thanks Stacey

    @jeoyanda Thanks for your question, but I would need a bit more information about you to give you an answer. What part of your spine are you talking about? you neck, back, low back? Are you asking about scoliosis or another condition? You can see my videos on neck pain and low back pain which may be what you are asking for.

    ive been using a tennis ball on my foot(i plan to make an appointment with a foot dr in morning) to ease tension and when i do this on my right foot i can hear popping.. is that a good thing .. it feels like its easing tension but not for long.. and is it a sign of plantar fasciitis

    • @AaronLeBauer
      @AaronLeBauer 6 лет назад

      Popping is not a bad thing, if it's happening over and over it's likely just a symptom of tight muscles in your leg. Plantar fasciitis is generally a symptom of tight muscles or joints in your lower leg too or even instability. My recommendation is to go see a physical therapist who will look at more than just your foot and can help you resolve this issue vs a foot doctor or podiatrist. PT 1st, then podiatrist if 1 or 2 PT's are not able to solve your issue and it's more of a structural problem. Your PT will know when you need to see the podiatrist :-D

    @melatinasofi these massage techniques and this sequence is not meant to be painful. It is ok if it is uncomfortable, but if you have sharp, shooting or intense pain with any of these techniques, please see your local physical therapist for an evaluation.

    @mathiasaguilar if you have any doubt, you should see a physical therapist in your area.
    Search google for "find a pt" for the American Physical Therapy Assoc. website.
    The exercises in this video are to help prevent bunions and other foot problems. If your foot is already irritated or inflamed then, the exercises will not always "fix" what is going on, but should help your foot move better and feel less pain in the long term.

    @jeoyanda with out seeing you in person or having more info I can't give you any specific recommendations. You can try some of the exercises in my yoga exercises for back pain video. You want to develop your core to stabilize your back while moving it safely. Physical Therapy, Myofascial Release & Regular exercise including resistance training and a regular yoga practice can be very beneficial for people with scoliosis. If you have any further questions consult a local Physical Therapist

  • @LeBauerPT
    @LeBauerPT  13 лет назад

    @aenigmatica8 It's very hard to give treatment advice without a proper evaluation or seeing you in person. If self massage and range of motion do not improve your condition, it really is best to seek out a local physical therapist who specializes in hands-on manual physical therapy to help you return to running. Thanks for the comment and good luck.

    I went to doctor with my foot pain problem than he said you are flat footed its usual for this problem. They says it can be with usage of bad shoes. But than something happened one month ago. My foot tightened and i couldnt walked for a week. Still i have pain and my foot twitched. İ swam ,I made some exercises like your video but not okey still. One doctor suggested lyrica to understand its neuropathic or not. I know ist internet but what do you think ? Thank you !

You may want to also check with the physician or podiatrist who performed your surgery, but should be able to call a physical therapist of your choice directly, and if you need a referral they will let you know.
    Good luck,

    I began coping with plantar fasciitis more than a decade ago and I thought there is nothing that can treat my disorder. I was in fact wrong about that since I found and tried out this plantar fasciitis treatment , Sαnzoka Mula (Go ogle it) 3 weeks ago. The pain is now totally gone. I still can’t believe that I`m relieved. I already saved more than 100 on acupuncture and throughout these events that means much to me.
