- No Man's Sky is an action-adventure survival game played from a first or third person perspective that allows players to engage in five principal activities: exploration, survival, combat, trading and base building. The player takes the role of a specimen of alien humanoid planetary explorer, known in-game as the Traveller, in an uncharted universe. They start on a randomized planet near a crashed spacecraft towards the edge of the galaxy and are equipped with a survival exosuit with a jetpack, and a "multitool" that can be used to scan, mine and collect resources as well as to attack or defend oneself from creatures and hostile forces. The player can collect, repair, and refuel the craft, allowing them to travel about the planet, between other planets and space stations in the local planetary system, engage in space combat with alien factions, or make hyperspace jumps to other star systems. While the game is open-ended, the player may follow the guidance of the entity known as The Atlas to head toward the centre of the galaxy.

on that matter: do those new armor pieces mean there is a new playable race, like the Autophage? Just wondering... some pieces (legs and arms) look more like a limb replacement instead of something you wear over you acual limb....

Useless trivia: "bug hunt" is Vietnam-era slang for a search-and-destroy mission. Hence them being surprised that it's a literal bug hunt.

Every new update to NMS is like getting a secret peek at what LNF will look like. Downloading patch right now on Steam, gonna check it out in a few minutes. 18.7 gig update.

After watching your video and firing up my PC Stream started downloading the Update right away - yeah!
And what shall I say? I'm blown away! Hello Games essentially fixed all issues I had with weather and under water rendering!
And what's even better: They improved the engine performance immensely so for the first time ever I can play NMS VR with ultra settings instead of high!
Man, I had such a blast yesterday evening playing NMS in VR!

My main paradise became a murky mess😂, extinction event. I found new weird bug too😂
Looking at the stuff now. Got the aqua jets installed and testes water landings. The water effects do look better. Game has frozen twice on me. Haven't found any new biomes as yet because of the game freezing. I think you were right when saying these kind of updates don't hold people's attention for long. Hopefully the expedition won't be too far away. They are what bring me back to the game. I wonder if terrain still swallow bases or not.
In the sean Murray commentary trailer, he says he wants to " refresh the UNIVERSE ". Could this mean thst not only are the planets getting an upgrade, but space and other mechanics as well ? I'm calling it now, part 2 will be upgraded space mechanics, deeper space travel and organic space enemies. As it is below, so shall it be above ?
My wishlist is upgrade of the settlements ( turn settlements into " cities " ( not mega cities )
Alien race homeworlds, solar system/station ownership. On ground battles with alien race npc's. Deeper space exploration, and the planets revolving around the sun. Lastly, the ability to hire/purchase more npc's to inhabit your base do it will feel alive.
I'd like to see guided missiles in space combat so it's not all gun runs, I think the enemy AI would actually handle that a lot better since it tends to circle and then charge at you.
@@CruelestChrisat would be nice. Any increase in difficulty is welcomed in my book. I find most of us who have old saves, our characters are basically gods.
Hi Steve, after watching your video I went exploring. I found something called a Vile Brood on a Reeking planet. I can send you the glyphs if you can't find something similar
My base in euclid was overridden with trees, but so far all bases still there. Can't say I have visited all 256 bases yet. :)

I only just started to replay this stream. Apologies if my remarks are obsolete. When I fired up Steam this morning, NMS had already downloaded the update. I don't know what time we got it. Also, as of right now, the Xbox PC App does NOT have it yet.

I'm playing the update on an Arc A770 that just arrived today. It's surprisingly smooth. Did have to shut off V-sync, but apparently Arc support has improved for NMS. Other interesting note: It seems to be slightly easier to pick the gassy pod from the center of a flytrap plant. Prompt doesn't appear unless you're pretty close, and it is a bit squiffy still if you're on a slope, but overall it's working much better than before. I don't have to jiggle the mouse around to get the prompt to appear. I picked three in a row without getting snapped once, so it feels much smoother than before. Update looks really nice so far.

My very first base that got swallowed by a mountain has reappeared ! and my colonies just appear at once, no waiting for them to kinda blend in.

Dude, Chitin isn't the name for the creature, it's the word for the material making up the tough exoskeleton of real life bugs
Just using that as a place holder until we get given a name better than Vile Brood... unless that's the race name... Chitin sounds better.

I would love this update if it weren’t for that fact that the overhaul ruined a lot of planets people spend hours working on
Understandable but imo it’s the price of progress if there’s an other update to the worlds they could come back though I’ve seen other RUclipsrs say they got there old bases back that were changed or swallowed by terrain in the last world generation update

You can filter items .... just don't be in creative mode.....and the items you don't have e will be highlighted

Just booted the game on PC after steam update, immediately after loading in on my freighter, game crashes to desktop with an error message.... Great.

@CaptainSteveVPT awesome. I have been playing Starfield for months and I like it. But I spend most my time exploring as the missions are the same repetitive missions that I have been playing since the 90s.
@CaptainSteveVPT I brought the game yesterday and it's awesome! Completely different from Stanfield, and better in the sense that it's centered around survival, resource and tech gathering, and you can fly around the planets, and take off and land pretty much any where without the stupid cut scenes.
Xbox probably a month later ☺️

Just watched the 5.0 trailer, and from what i have seen a hughe dissapointment. They just incorporate LNF tech into NMS and pat themselves on their back. Well Captain i am WAY WAY WAY more curious to watch you play the update. Oh 5.0 has just been released, 17.46 GB downloading.
