- Even if you're a minimalist (more like minimal-ISH) kind of person like me, you hate consumerism, and you make every purchase with intention, babies still need A LOT of gear.
We're about to be new parents, but that doesn't mean we want our home to be flooded with every baby contraption out there that's supposed to "make life easier" but really just crowds your house!
This is how we organized our home to seamlessly digest all of the new baby products, without it feeling cluttered or overwhelming 🤍
Thank you, I'm due the end of April this year and am already stressing about the stuff haha. I loved the basket system and having things where you hang out the most. Love your wonky place too! For myself I already thought I wanted baskets and shelving instead of drawers so I can just grab the whole basket instead of having multiple drawers open doing things haha.
@@DeerNeya YAY! That is so exciting. So here are my thoughts on the whole clothing situation.
I do have a typical dresser top changing pad, But we have yet to use it once. For me what works the best is keeping my caddy right next to the bed and that's the same caddy that I travel around the house with all day long, In that caddy there is a portable changing pad which is super small and we just put a blanket on it so it's a little warmer for her. That's where we change every diaper and put her in every outfit. For all of Her clothing I got these really lovely baskets on Amazon for like 50 bucks and it's a beautiful woven material so it feels high quality and aesthetic but it's relatively inexpensive, and I just put all of her 0-3 sleepers in one box, Under shirts in a different box, and outfits headbands and socks in a third box.
For clothing my baby is now 10 days old and she actually hasn't worn clothing for more than a handful of hours because we've been skinned to skin so much. Don't know how you'll be feeding, Especially since we're breastfeeding this has been so helpful for every time she needs to feed and it's also a lot more convenient for burping and sped ups because she's not dirtying as many clothes.
Really excited for you! Tell me more about your ideal birth and newborn postpartum experience And what your thoughts are on all the stuff 😄🌠
@@emmavangrieken nice! Yeah we are trying to do most on the floor because we sleep and eat on the floor like Asian families do, we are Dutch and Scottish ourselves but really enjoy floor life lol so we will also be using a portable changing mat and perhaps a 2 tier caddy for changing in different rooms. The baskets you have are great and I will be looking into that ! I am hoping to mainly breastfeed and keep him on me more than the average person I think but my cat used to be clung to me all the time too , sadly she passed away two weeks ago.
Good to hear that the skin to skin also prevents more laundry haha we don't have a massive amount of space for tonnes of clothes so I will be keeping a tight washing schedule
@DeerNeya I love that! I'm such a floor person too. We've got raised furnature but I'm constantly on the cozy carpet stretching around 🤪 You'll do fantastic! What are you most excited for / nervoud about right now?
