  • Big news for the channel! We just hit 100 subscribers! Thank you to everyone who is watching and sharing the videos on my channel! It means a lot to me that you take the time out of your day to sit down and enjoy the content I'm making. It doesn't seem like it, but these videos usually have 40+ hours of work condensed in just minutes of footage. At the end of the day, its worth it to show you guys what it takes to work on an older vehicle. Here's to 100 subscribers & many more videos! Cheers!
Moving onto the video! This is part 1 of a two part series coming to the channel in which there is NO COMMENTARY, just ASMR. A week before I started filming, the water pump went out on me at work, so here I am starting the repair process to get the Crown Vic back on the road! (Remember, don't let them sit! Otherwise, they'll never get back on the road!) Now this was supposed to be a simple water pump change but I ended up snapping two of the longer studs going through the pump, the timing cover and into the block. It seems to be very common on a North Easter engine....That turned into doing a new timing chain & gear set, along with ALOT of maintenance items being checked off the list that she needed to have had done. IE: Hoses, spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor... You get the point, and you'll see all of that in the rest of the series!
Part 2: • Working On An Old Crow...
To my fellow Crown Vic owners out there, I hope this video finds you and is helpful in doing similar work if you are a DIY mechanic because this is for you guys! Lets get these cars the popularity that they deserve!
Thank you again for the 100 subscribers, you guys are all awesome! Enjoy.

Fantastic video! I appreciate the ASMR format and the "ordinary guy works on ordinary car" aspect. Those timing cover bolts have a rep for snapping. I had a dealer mechanic break one off many years ago (351 Windsor). After that, I juice them up, heat them up over and over, and bang on them with a hammer for a week before I even touch one. I'm anxious to see how you handle them. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the positive feedback! And man that makes me feel so much better knowing that it’s such a common issue with snapping those timing cover bolts. I SLATHERED them bad boys with anti-seize when I put everything back together lol. But thanks man it means a lot that you watched ❤️😎

Thank you Bro, that you post. I’ve been working on my Dads car 91’ CV. Unfortunately I suck and recording and posting. But yes like the other brother said it helps. I’m working on the front suspension rite now that the tranny and engine are out of it. Great job Bro.

@@victorbecerra0986 I appreciate it man. Its a lot of hard work to keep up with these cars but it is worth it at the end of the day! We all have to start somewhere so dont give up on the recording. It'll be needed in the next 10 or so years that people can look back on our videos on how to work on these cars. Just keep it up and you'll get it done in no time. Thank you for watching! :D

That trick with the stuck hoses, using a flathead? I do that one. Works every time.
I also do that trick were i drop my socket and it falls through the engine bay onto the ground.
Makes me happy to know others perform such magic tricks.

Yes sir. The flathead trick HAS to work since these hoses have been left on for probably the last 20 years... if that. Lol yeah it's a trick I perform often, so you're not alone at all!

Had to put intake manifold on 2001 Crn Vic, that was a pain. Have to take so much off first, everything is plastic and brittle. Have to be careful not to break coil packs or fuel injectors. And i dont like how manuscratchers use a single silicone o-ring the size of a pencil lead to seal ports & passages. I used a thin coat of Hylomar gasket sealer on them for a better seal.

@@user-yj7yn4fi4l I would not want to be where you’re at with all of the plastic manufacturers we’re using back in the early 2000s. I mean my equivalent is all of the 80s vacuum hoses and lines that need to be replaced now… but hey man I’m glad to hear that you got to work on your 2001 CV. Is it still on the road?

@@seansdriveway Only vehicle running. Worked on cars, truck, tractors, and motorcycles for 45 years, now I'm blind in one eye and had detached retina in the other eye and hand, feel crippled up with arthritis. Have a hard time getting and down and have a hard time doing wrenching, plus parts are extremely expensive and made in communist Chyna. I've helped so many people over the years fixing things for free, (they just pay for parts), now that I could use help there's no one. And I grinds my gears knowing tools and equipment I paid through the nose for someday someone will get them free, and to them; oh, no big deal.

@@drew5992 You're absolutely right. I should've spent 45 minutes (maybe an hour) to try and preserve a 20 year old dry rotted hose that would've last me maybe one more oil change instead of replacing it with a $12 hose off of rock auto...
