    I have been looking for what seems forever for this. So many people I know said this never existed. I couldn't remember the name, but knew what it was about bc I remember having this recorded once on vhs tape.
    Searching what I knew about this show over past 2 years finally was solved tonight at 9:30pm CST when I found a Google search that led me to Imdb and gave me a show name ("Who Shrunk Saturday Morning?") that did not sound familiar to me, but the synopsis on imdb was spot on to what I remembered about the show I have been looking for.
    I then, in a whim, decided to search RUclips for the title Imdb gave me..pretty sure nothing would show up..and I was thankfully proving wrong when your video showed up.
    It was exactly the show I have been looking for. Now I can prove to my friends that it truly does exist and I wasn'tt crazy when I talked about this show.
    I know this video is missing the very beginning intro up to when Zack & Screech first get zapped into the "sitcon tv realm" (would love to see that part if it can be found), but this is enough to prove that it truly existed.
    It was so much fun to watch and my childhood memories came back to me as I watched it. If I remember right it came mid week at around 7pm during primetime so the whole family could watch it and see the new show cunning out that season.
    I always considered this first true episode of "Saved By The Bell" (after the show's producers dropped the name "Good Morning Miss Bliss", replaced some cast members, and moved the show from Disney to NBC).
    Thanks so much for posting this. You don't know how much this means to me. You have made me very happy. Keep up the great work and keep the memories coming back.

      This upload is priceless! Your story sounds very similar to mine. I remember watching this the night it aired because I never missed these Saturday morning fall preview specials. I always got so excited over the new cartoon series! My mom always made sure we watched them every fall. "Thank you, Lord Jesus, for my childhood."

    I've been watching all of the original Saved by the Bell episodes lately, and I was surprised to learn that nobody ever actually says that they've been "saved by the bell" in any of the episodes, but I had a specific memory from childhood of it being said in one of the episodes. I'm glad I found this video to prove that I did not have a false memory, for I believe that Slater saying it in this episode is the only time it's ever said, though this apparently doesn't count as an official episode of Saved by the Bell.

    I remember trying to see what was coming on Saturday mornings when they showed them like this on a Friday night! That way, I could plan what I was going to watch or tape if I wasn't at home for whatever reason.
    I did that every year until they took away those programs and replaced them with those E/I programs.
    The ironic thing about those older programs and the E/I programs of today is that Saved By the Bell is now considered to be one of those E/I programs!🤔🙂

    I blame Bill Clinton for shrinking Saturday morning.
    The 1996 FCC Mandate, which strengthened the 1992 Children's Television Act, effectively killed the market for animated productions on network television. In walked "educational" live shows and imported cartoons peddling playing cards, and next thing you know the Today show has a Saturday morning version. And you thought the Internet did it ...

    • @donmccullen1973
      @donmccullen1973 6 лет назад

      and now that that the Act does its job, you might well repeal it. Cause the news people would love to have more time.

    • @exiles_dot_tv
      @exiles_dot_tv 6 лет назад +4

      Cartoon Network also helped. Waiting for Saturday Mornings to watch cartoons stopped feeling as special when you had a channel you could watch cartoons on 24/7.

    • @donmccullen1973
      @donmccullen1973 6 лет назад +2

      Don't forget Disney Channel; and Nick. But had it not been for the CTA and alll the make all children's TV educational advocates it would have died a slower death.

    • @VictorGonzalez-xs9oc

      Bill Clinton did not shrinking Saturday morning, but he did ended Saturday Morning Show though.

    • @MrDruism
      @MrDruism 4 года назад +1

      Bill Clinton didn’t make the CTA, that was something passed in the republican controlled house and senate. Bill just signed the bill into law. What the Republicans did on top of that was get rid of some laws that gave birth to Fox News. There used to be a law against the news promoting people giving false or misleading information without telling the viewer that the person telling lies does not represent the news program or its station (it’s way more complex in what rules and laws were repealed). Basically after that you could lie on the news and not be held accountable for it, and that’s how FOX NEWS was born!

    During the final three years of NBC's orignal Saturday morning block, all of its programming outside of Saved by the Bell suffered constant Executive Meddling. First, NBC canceled The Smurfs, at one time considered NBC's staple animated program, and gave it the rerun treatment for a year while struggling to headline newer shows, like Captain N: The Game Master and the Animated Adaptation of The Karate Kid, the latter of which was promptly axed due to low ratings. Both shows had to rely on word-of-mouth as NBC chose to spend their resources headlining Saved by the Bell. Then, a year later, Kissyfur was axed and its time slot replaced by NBA Inside Stuff, a recap program of NBA basketball games. At the same time, NBC exhausted more advertising revenue toward Saved by the Bell, causing drastic budget cuts for cartoons airing on the block. Potential viewers would either move to other blocks, such as newcomer Fox Kids, or watch Nickelodeon instead. Then, in the block's final year, Captain N was shortened from an hour to a half-hour, and both Alvin and the Chipmunks and the obscure Gravedale High were canceled in favor of new shows like ProStars and Yo Yogi!, the latter of which was critically panned and proved to be the final straw. As a result of the persistent ratings failures and continued pressure within the children's television market, NBC ordered all Saturday morning programs canceled, save for only Saved by the Bell since it was the most successful show of the block. They continued airing reruns of the shows until August 1st, 1992, when a teen-oriented live-action block named TNBC and a Saturday morning edition of Today took its place. Saved by the Bell and NBA Inside Stuff were the only programs to survive the transition. NBC's decision to drop their Saturday Morning Cartoon block is widely viewed as the beginning of the end for the format.

    The demise of Saturday mornings on the Peacock 🦚 (NBC) network could be considered a perfect storm of:
    1) NBC relying too long on five cartoons (The Smurfs, The Snorks, Alvin and the Chipmunks 🐿 , ALF and until it moved to ABC on September 9, 1989; Adventures of the Gummi Bears) *as their heavy hitters.*
    2) *The replacement newcomers being extremely weak* (The Karate 🥋 Kid, Gravedale High, Kid & Play, Yo! Yogi and ProStars, especially).
    3) *NBC News wanting to expand the Today show to Saturdays* (the one day they did not air on; Today had only expanded to Sundays about 1987).
    4) Lastly, the success of Saved By the Bell leading to NBC executives doing what most network execs do when a show is a huge hit: *order as many clones as possible.* Leading to the birth of Teen NBC (TNBC) on September 12, 1992.
