Wow! 8 to 10 mins flight time is extraordinary especially since we've been used to getting 4 to 5 mins airtime on analog quads. My 2.5 yr old Eachine Lal3 4s analog only gives me 4.5 mins at best. Great video from the master himself Sir Dutch. 🏴🇺🇸😅
Yes sir! 8-10 minutes.. almost to long to be honnest :D For really intence flying I find 5 minutes to be enough most times ;) But yeah.. if you would want to fly further out.. 8-10 minutes is great :)
nice smooth flying and it looks fast for sure! great review again sir thnx
Thanks man! And I agree.. it flies great :D
Cheers & thanks for stopping by :)
Great analysis DRC... pros and cons to flying with smaller and bigger battery. Seems like a fast stable flyer. Have a good one buddy. Hope your lockdown ends soon. Stay safe!
Thanks as always brother :)
It very much is a nice (and fast) flier.. I should have ordered it sooner :$
Yeah well hmm.. I am not that bothered by the lockdown myself.. I can work.. I can make video's.. But I'm sure it can't end soon enough for a lot of others..
What are things like over there??
Cheers & stay safe as well
@@DutchRC Things over here are low key. kids are going back to school here starting next week. We've been in this practically for a year now, I hate to think people are going to accept this as the normal from now on.
@@mikesrccorner One could think things are coördinated ;) kids will be going back to school next week over here as well..
Ohww wait! Snow blizzard tomorrow.. maybe they WON'T be going back to school ;)
And I don't think you should worry about that. Maybe people will be a bit more mindfull about germs.. that's about it I think.. ohw and there will be more working from home
Fantastic flying and review, dude! 😃
It's definitely a pretty nice quad!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks as always brother! Hope (assume) things are a lot warmer over there? :)
Cheers and have a good (safe) week!
@@DutchRC Too warmer, actually... I've been having to turn the AC on every freaking day. 🙄
33 to 35°C here... It's been difficult. 😬
@@MCsCreations Sounds great! It's frrrrreezing over here.. Wanna trade?? :D
@@DutchRC Absolutely no! But I would accept to sum and divide by 2. 😂
@@MCsCreations Haha :D Very social brother! I'll take it :)
Cool review! Thumbs up!
Thank you very much! Highly appreciated :)
@@DutchRC Welcome too!
sorry about the 2-times-upload :P
.
Great job 👍
Thank you very much Joe :)
Yeah makes me want one now ,very addicting hobby , can't count how many I have ,I'm sure like most who are well into it , I like small zippy quads to get thru small spaces and less noise
Your welcome
@@joefletcher2948 yes.. you In Indeed want one :) out of all the new Light quads this one is the most fun I think.. really fast :D
Great review, very nice little quad indeed! You didn't mention anything about the sound, is this one more quiet than the Roma lr4? Or should I more be looking at a Flywoo Explorer to get a quiet quad?
Thanks Stefan :)
I think the Roma F4 might be a Little more quiet as this L3 is faster but there isn't a lot between them :) These are all pretty quiet I think :)
is this THE 2021 quad? :D I want one :P thanx for the tuning service bro!
Haha :D depends weather you need / want a Light quad :) I probably prefer the F5 but this L3 for sure is nice :)
I don't have any digital quads at present.. All analog !!
A question I do have though is do the DJI/ Caddx cameras need focusing or are they already pre focused
at the factory ??
I usually check the focus on my analog cameras and sometimes have to adjust them
This looks like a real nice cruiser
Thanks for the review 👍😊
Hope you are all ok in Holland🤞🏼
I have not had to (re) focus any of the DJI / Caddx Vista camera's.. I had not considered that to be honest but yep.. with Caddx's track record.... :P
These are all good-to-go though...
Cheers man :) thanks for stopping by and things are COLD over here ;) Pretty good otherwise..
How are things over there??
Great video, could I ask you to check the weight with the 850 tattu please? I want to fly it with a naked gopro and I wondered it it would stay under the 250g. Thanks!
Thank you very much! Ohwwwwww kee.. let's see..
850mah tattu R-line: 105 grams
650mah tattu R-line: 80 grams
hope that helps :)
Very informative!
Do you happen to have the stock Dynamic Notch Filter settings? I can't seem to find them in my stock dump. Thanks!
Thanks Scott :)
AND.. it not being in your diff--dump means the original settings were Betaflight Stock settings.. So a fresh firmware flash will get you the original settings of the quad :)
@@DutchRC Thanks very much for that info. Much appreciated. I've been trying to get the wobble out at mid throttle and was following a couple of 4.2 tuning tips. I also noticed Feedforward transition is 0.4 in your settings, whereas the default I believe was 0? I dont recall changing it at all.
What's its build weight at final? Looking for a 250g one affordable for training... Tks
The dry weight of the quad is 145 grams, and ofcourse the all-up weight depends on what lipo you would want to use :)
I know its an old video, but how hot are your motors running? I have a Foxeer F745 AIO on my Roma 3, but still using the Toka 1206 3600kv motors. They arent scalding hot, but hotter than any drone i have. i can hold them for like 5 seconds - 10 seconds after a spirited run. I see the Toka 3600kv + motors are discontinued. I wonder if its because they get hot? The quad performance is great. I do not have additional weight. Its 250g AUW.
hmmm super hot motors is never a good thing.. I would look at your filtering first.. Do you maybe have the AIO mounted to firmly?
Next thing would be the filtering in BF.. And a good tune last ofcourse..
How does it compare with Geprc Cygnet 2, 3 or pro? Would it be fun for someone flying Cygnet cx2 with 2.5"?
Very different quad this, but Mostly a lot faster. I didn't look into it but it should also be lighter, but again.. mostly FAST
So I guess yes: it would be an addition to your fleet if you already have a Cygnet
You think it would be possible to install a GPS as on the L4? If it was what ports could i use to connect the GPS module? Thanks for the video and tips👍
Howdy Luis :) the diagram of the AIO F411 25A board in this quad doesn't show a GPS.. that might be a "hint" ;) Have a look yourself.. I don't see a way to hook up a GPS to it..
@@DutchRC thanks for your reply! I was thinking of using the led port as a softserial TX...but not sure if it would be possible with this board... I've done it with other quads like the eachine 79 and the GPS works really well... that's why I was asking if you had tried to set up a GPS module on this one. Cheers 👍
@@luismanchego6856 I thought of that LED port as well but I really wouldn't know if it works well here..
Also: you might be asking the wrong guy.. I usually Remove GPS if the quad comes with one :D :P
Hi, what firmware have you installed to activate the bidirectional Dshot? Thanks 👍
howdy :) I used the G_H_30_REV16_73 on this quad
@@DutchRC Hi mate, i think I am gonna try the bluejay firmware.
By the way I noticed that you have your dynamic notch filter set to 8-120-200-600... Shouldn't it be something like 0-200-90-350?
I may be wrong, you are more experienced than me.
Thanks anyway for taking the time to reply.👍
All the best 👍
yeahh so I Try to get to a workable (and safe) tune by only using the sliders (for PID's as well as filters)..
Doesn't work out every time ofcourse.. in this case I got to a good setup like that.. this way the tune I publish doesn't depend to much on the quad being exactly the same as mine
Would an air unit fit instead of a vista in this frame? I am looking for a 3inch frame with air unit capability...
Hmm I would think it would be a Tight squeze or would not fit at all..
I can see what you are going for (no need for an action cam) but I don't think it would fit..
An Insta360 go then perhaps? :)
@@DutchRC i would really like to forego any action cam, since the build is intended for tight spaces and general whacking. I really have to get my hands on one of those frames.
@@konstantinospanagiotopoulo4445 okee soooo.. does it Have to be a light / long range kinda setup?
This frame could otherwise be an option: ruclips.net/video/bK5NMgrRDeI/видео.html
I have bought this and want to put r9mm with sbus, which signal cable???, yellow or white? to connect to? Inverted/non- inverted confuses me. Please confirm it's yellow, has RX1 label on it. Cheers
that would actually depend on the firmware on your receiver (and yes.. hurray for channel inversion ;)
you'll have to look up for to connect those R9mm receivers (with the firmware you used) and you'll then see if you need a RX or TX pad of the FC's uart
@@DutchRC was the yellow, or RX1. All good, did maiden test flight today, all good.
@@paulr3556 Good on ya! Well done and.. happy flying :)
Make a tune on this quadcopter with betaflight 4.3.1 Would appreciate that a lot! ✌️
you will have to convert the tune I made sir ;) As nice as this quad is.. I don't have it anymore :$
With a deadcat frame design there is a bit of a imbalance between the motor positions and since cleanflight days they have a motor mixer function to help adjust the motor distances to achieve true-x frame characteristics.
Easy to calculate a custom motor mix using the following link: www.iforce2d.net/mixercalc/ and paste it into the BetaFlight CLI. But you might need to redo you pids after this.
There is some debate whether motor mixing is actually doing any good but both Dave_C and Paweł Spychalski have custom motor mixes for their deadcat frame designs.
Yes true, but for me: I fly deadcats so offten I know how to mix things (by hand) without thiniking about it.. In fact: I like deadcats because of the wat they "flow" through corners..
But yeah.. the debate: if you want a deadcat to fly like a different kind of quad... Maybe a normal setup would work better?
Which props were you using? Was it the 1.8 or the 2.5?
I just reached that part of the video, never mind. Thanks.
Hehehe :) No worries man :)
I fly my Roma with a 6s
this same version? or do yu have the 6S version?
@@DutchRC I bought the bind and fly from pyro drone 4 to 6s
@@aztecjoe29 very cool :) for sure one of the better 2021 releases :)
