Me, on my first game of FE ever, with a 18 strength, 19 speed, level 8 Sniper Rebecca: "Wait, she's not supposed to be good?"
It's really unfortunate that it's a class issue because no matter what stats archers have in these games, their contribution is just attacking one guy in player phase and then contributing nothing on enemy phase

No clue, but at this point I'm starting to respect his commitment
I don’t know how but I seem to have this ROM as well. 7 years of playing this game and I have NEVER had a decent lowen. I swear the FE community gaslights how usable he is.
Tbf he's more deployable than other units with shit stats because lol mounted

The FE community likes Lowen because typically they don't play Lyn Mode, meaning he gets much better availability than Kent and Sain. Lowen for me when I did LHM>HHM was a worse Marcus with higher defense who really fell off halfway through along with Marcus.
I fucking die every time Rebeca closes her eyes, she literally stole every stat growth from Lowen! (Elibad was born like that)
Rebecca has this weird talent to pop off every time I do a challenge run, but running on effectively negative growths if I decide to do a cozy normal run of the game.
Situations include but are not limited to her one rounding Nergal in a HHM PMU.
She craves a challenge, she lives for the fight and only for the fight
She knows when you need help, and when you don't.
She's helpful and bright.
I've only really trained her up once and she was honestly really good for a gba sniper.
It really surprised me to always see her low in tierlists.

Well I didn't expect this to take two more months to make, but here we are!
I really can't find the words to explain how grateful I am for the overwhelmingly positive response to the first highlight video. I know that in the grand scheme, this channel is still super small, but I never thought anything I made would reach even a hundred people, let alone 15,000. Streaming and editing this series is so fulfilling in a way unlike anything I've ever felt before, and it makes me so happy that my creative output can make so many people do like a little nose exhale 2 or 3 times over the span of 15-20 minutes.

Haven’t seen anyone mention it, so I have to mention the attention to detail of keeping Bartre edited out of every prep screen after mentioning how he doesn’t exist. I know a lot of channels that would have gotten the first one, maybe the first couple, but getting it right again a minute later is high quality stuff. Will definitely be checking out more videos!

I really love using archers, but the enemy phase means the melee characters get ridiculously more xp than them and then they just fall off.
Yeah this game REALLY pushes 1-2 range units ahead just by sheer enemy density lol
Funnily enough, the harder the game is the better Archers and especially Snipers often get. But in games where you can Unga bunga 1-2 range enemy phase they're awful.

I've been watching this series ever since i got the Rebecca Power Hour steeam in my recommend out of nowhere and ive enjoyed it so much! It genuinely makes me excited when i see the next stream is coming up. It seems you aren't a fan of this game but I'm glad you kept going even after the actual run ender happened, simply because it is really damn entertaining to watch. Once again, love this series and I look forward to the next stream!
For what it's worth, I do love a lot about FE7! I just love the whole FE series so much, and I think that FE7's strong points are things that most other entries also handle well, while its shortcomings happen to make for really interesting discussion points. So even though I have lot of little negative things to say about it, I do still tend to enjoy my time with it, and it deserves a ton of credit for what it is!

man, I tried using rebecca in one of my recent playthroughs and she got no strength and speed. I ended up dropping her as a sniper...
Did you try giving her a Goddess Icon?
40% strength growth usually ends up as really good, or you get 2 strength in 20 levels.
Well tbf she's let down by her base lol. A 40% growth is only good if you're not entirely dependent on it

replaying this game right now and i am happy to say rebecca is clearly the best unit in the game she was even the first unit i promoted i clearly showed no favoritism she is just a good unit

Rebecca used to be hailed as a 10/10 on gamefaqs. I used to use her then decided Dart and Geitz were my dudes. Still love Rebecca though. Fire Emblem elitists ruined the series tbh. They try too hard
I use the "elitist" title ironically to describe people who just enjoy breaking down the game's systems to the deepest level that they can. It's okay for people to enjoy things in different ways!
Nobody can ruin a series for you unless you allow them to. You're allowed to enjoy playing in ways that someone else thinks are suboptimal. By the same token, don't try to tell people that they're in the wrong for trying to figure out optimal play!

I remember one run i actually leveled up rebecca since she was getting really good level ups, she literally carried that run.
i still wonder why IntSys still insisting that archers are either little twinks or really slender and can only deal chip damage from afar, whereas actual bow and arrows are far more lethal than any melee weaponry and requires extensive strength just to pull a decent shot.
Archers tend to be slender IRL in my experience

archers are sadly very bad in fe7, because of how they are meant to be used. archers are suposed to kill a single important unit with their massive attack and speed stats, so that the rest of the army have a better time killing the weaker enemys. one problem. in fe 7 there are only 2 types of enemys, scrubs and the final 2 bosses, so archers arent really needed
