To be fair, I think the “you can be sawing in a few hours” claim is for the mill itself. Not the trailer package, power feed, and winch. Still, 9 hours isn’t too bad.

As you said it before, knowing "your" sawmill from head to toe will increase system performance due to lower cost and higher output ...... and more fun with the new toy! 😆

I think it was a good choice to put it together yourself for future repairs or just checking things! Later you may feel that was the best 9 hours of your work experience!

How sweet it is to get a new, better, toy and to have the help from your Dad to get it up and running. You and your Dad warmed my semi-old crusty heart the way you guys worked together. I look forward to many more videos and adventures from the Fall Line Ridge.

I love your dad's workshop! ( jealous, a bit, really)
Your reasoning for doing the assembly yourself sounds really solid - I'll consider that myself next time I'm faced with having shop assembly or my own.

Im glad I watched this video you shared for a couple of reasons. First reason is I had planned on picking up the woodmizer LT15 with my father in laws pickup truck but now after seeing the difficulty of raising it off a flat bed trailer I see an issue with being able to raise it high enough to clear the side of the truck bed. I guess we could raise it high enough and just drive the truck forward until it clears then lower the saw head to the ground. The second issue I have is we do not own a tractor. I have not put my order in just yet but I plan on getting the trailer option but most likely that will be down the road since it adds $2000 to the cost. Worse case is I rent a tractor which I could also use on our property to move a bunch of dirt around but thanks for sharing this video because now I know what to expect once I get the unit home. It sure would have sucked getting it home only to find out I had no way of lifting it out of the pickup truck.

As with most manufacturer's, "a few hours" is a relative term. I would consider "a few hours" somewhere around 4-5 hours, otherwise, just call it a full day (or so) for assembly and setup. Really looking forward to seeing what you can do with this machine. This one looks designed for portability, it'll be interesting to see what you invent to keep using the loading ramp/winch setup.

Hell, it took me longer than that to read and understand the manual, you mentioned that you had some adjustments to still do on it, I lucked out and got mine use from a local guy, and it looked like it was never used, Really like show room new. and 1/2 the price of new. A few Q's if you have time, how is the power feed working, only thing I don't have and heard some issues with them, also you should do a video on aligning the blade, roller guides, no one has a good one on the tube. Mine was all set up but I'm checking every thing before I start using it. only one thing I saw is the blade gullets are about 1/4"+ out from the drive wheel and idler wheel, and says they should be about 1/8"was wondering how much to turn the adjustment bolt, thinking 1/8 of a turn to start. Nothing is mentioned about that. Great video and wish I could have been there to help out. And a few hours as I think and maybe you would few 3-5 now we know. Bless yawl an do more videos. 👍👍👍👍

I have LT35 HD tastes in a Harbor Freight budget so I bought a Timbery M100, a cousin to the LT10. Sure is going to be nice with the log deck package and trailer pkg. Now you can easily go out and do sawing jobs. Not sure what it is about Wood-Mizer sawmills, but gotta get me one. Is either the orange color or the name that I love. That and the dealer is maybe an hour away.

That's a really nice package deal you have there. Only saying that because I'm looking to buying the same one, minus the power feed. Woodmizer quoted me $380 to set it up and put it on the trailer ready to tow. Let us know how it handles on the road and if there's anything that needs to be done to the saw prior to Towing it. Will you be putting the power winch on that saw instead of the factory manual winch? Can't wait to see the wood chips and dust flying with the new saw.👍👍👍

@@falllineridge THATS ABOUT $13,400.00 CND a far cry cheaper then here in Ont. Canada, and the usa dealers not aload to ship or sell to Canada,, to protect the huge margins dealers here make, but being it is not 100% made in usa there duty on it around 23% plus the high cost of shipping they clam and your add on are standard at our dealers, they were cheaper years ago until they got Canada dealers, just like argo 8x8 water cooled, was 10,000 in 1999 and now 30,000 cnd i was about to buy one in 2000 but argo got dealers and price over night jumped 20k

I have a homemade mill and I am wondering if you could do something for me if you taught your blade and the saw guide is set out to the full or out extension could you put on a scale and pull it one inch and tell me the amount of pounds it takes to pull it down to the one inch Mark this would be valuable as to help me get the right tension on my mill. If such a thing is possible it should be pulled in the center of the blade guides in there full or out positions. Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated.

R.E.A. Oh yeah we had MANY packages delivered that way. Often you could get damaged stuff for pennies on the dollar. Often the damaged stuff was WHAT you thought would come in OK! This was WAYYYYY before FedEx or UPS. I think the last stuff we had delivered REA was some chemistry stuff Dad and I ordered for Christmas presents in 1967....Of course the package did not arrive until the last of the first week in January.
