I love that you're doing this - I'd wager you're giving the actual Lore Team useful references to their own material that they might have more trouble searching through and keeping track of without the aid of your videos!
Ay I’m so glad there are good Star Citizen Lore videos out there! Im binging all the content now, I really hope to see more of these 30 minute videos. They are great to fall asleep too!
Great video, Sir. While watching / listening to it, I remembered that voice from the hacked speakers on Port Olisar back then, when the 9 tails ( was it the 9 tails? ) attacked Stanton: "People of stanton, a great injustice...." It would make sense now...
I would love if this video becomes a basis to have an other big human culture in the Verse that might not have the might and population of the UEE but it can be a Thorn to the UEE sometimes. It would be intersting to see how UEE deals with if the descendants of the Original Stanton Setllers that want to preserve their different culture. Do they have equal rights with UEE citizens or are they treated like 2nd class or even ctiminal elements. Is it something that Public Spectrum Channels acknowledge and talk about or is it still hushed up and original settlers are considered just delusioned revolutionaries/conspiracy theorists? It would add so much depth (and maybe even gameplay, when we got the new investigation missions). Good job, dude. This gives alot of narrative potential even if it's not cannon.
I was looking for some context on the dusters and found this video. One of your best so far! Hope we get more interaction with the Dusters, they my favorite faction in Stanton second only to the UHW.
I've been watching your stuff for at least 3 years now and I've gotta say, this is by far my favorite of all your videos!! Not that your others are bad, just that I love this one so much.
@theastrohistorian kidnapped the original settlers of the staton system and forces them to do research that's how he can make so many great lore videos.
Hi Paul, my name is Nicolette, I'm an avid fan of the project and I have been playing for a few years now. I lay more on the PVP side of things but also research heavily development and I seem to struggle to find any kind of explanation on what happens after we eject. Of course, within the realm of space. It's not a big deal, but on planetary surfaces it makes me wonder if you're being subjected to the gravity or atmosphere of a certain planet. Parachutes. Obviously would not work jetpacks or glider suits or maybe even like a bubble. I did not know if there was some sort of established lore for this. I figured maybe it would be a great point you could touch base on at some point.
And this is why I play as an outlaw. The Empire are a far cry from being 'the good guys' if anything the 'Verse is dark more a dark grey. Same Empire, different packaging.
Lovin the UnTold Tales Series AH. Surprised CIG hasn't given more incentives and Sponsorship opportunities for content like this. Look forward to more as well as the series success!
29:31 I see where you can draw that conclusion with that quote Paul, but I’d also like to point out the famous sing-song phrase “Whatever happens, we have got, the Maxim, and they have not,” from Hilaire Belloc in reference to the British having the Maxim gun, the first automatic machine gun, during colonial conquest of Africa, China, and India. I feel that quote regarding the Bengal could be more along the lines of boasting the might of UEE technology; similar to the British with the Maxim gun.
@@TheAstroHistorian Not trying to split hairs and play semantics…But, you said “I don’t think the UEE is acting maliciously because of (the Bengal quote)”. I just think the UEE had a goal and perhaps just left it to old generals/admirals (perhaps connecting the idea of leftover Messer Era leaders slipping through the cracks) to get the job done by whatever means…
Awesome video! Amazing story and storytelling, as well as the art part. I really want to see more of the dystopian side of UEE, smth. like the Empire in Star Wars, but without simplified and universal Good vs Evil that we have in SW. I want more corruption, I would love UEE to be a state where everything is amazing on paper, while in reality there are lots of problems and unfair things. Looking forward to the Dystopian Star Citizen video!
Dystopianism is so overused in media especially science-fiction, i can't stand this crave for depressing seetings anylonger, it does not create any kind of depth or makes the characters/worlds automatically more complex, just more complicated.
If that lore is true about the Dusters I'd consider joining them for their efforts or at least trade with them and the Banu. Love this video makes me want to go play SC and look for other hidden stories!
29:12 "They were no match for the might of a Bengal Carrier." Nothing about this quote supports any of your subsequent suppositions. There is no underlying implication that the settlers instigated anything. It simply states that they were overpowered. The rest is pure head cannon theorycraft.
This makes me feel like stantons supposed outlaw problem isn’t actually from just people being bad but is a result of the areas history and a people trying to regain their lands.
Eh, yes and no. The Nine Tails are blatantly Yakuza, as in literally a descendant organization. But they seem to have found fertile ground to set up shop and absorb the Dusters.
The one problem I see with this is MicroTech was terraformed by the UEE - so how would we explain the settlements there? MT is also where many of the settlements are located. Sure, not all of MT turned into a ball of ice, but there are settlements built above the ice, meaning they were for sure put there after the terraforming attempt....
It was a non habitable planet within the green zone. That doesn't mean there was water ice there before, just afterwards. In fact the process was messed up to create the cold planet that is there now. We don't know a ton about the process other than atmospheric processors are involved almost always.
Inherited Imperators. Started with Ivar Messer, soldier-leader who became Emperor to centralize Humanity's power. The people were in favour of it because they almost got mauled by the Tevarin. He was already a paranoid asshat, and his descendants were fearmongering sociopaths who roped Aegis Dynamics and the Navy into bombing 'rebellious' people by the townful, as well as poking and demonizing the Xi'an. These days, the UEE has Imperators, but it's an elected position not subject to Bad Kings.
I think you are confusing the captain of the ship with the Admiral of the shipyard from Providence platform. The Admiral is the one who ordered the attack on the miners.
And this is the reason my org doesnt want to be in UEE space, and only defending the citizens from the horrors that the UEE is incompetent in defending against.
I think you responded to the wrong video my friend. If you are talking about the use of the footage, it's just evocative footage not meant to be 100% accurate. The issue with covering lore of Star Citizen is that there isn't a ton of lore stuff in game yet so it's a lot harder to find resources.
@@TheAstroHistorian Ik, cinematic footage is rare, those 2 seconds with Cutties is still 2 seconds. The People's Radio of Levski shows how scarce it is. But there's a lot of quality visual content from various SC bloggers, why not use theirs with creative commons?
5 to 6 min of it to set the mood, yes. Then switch it up for the different parts of the story - maybe even bring that track back near the end for a minute 😉 But I do agree that half an hour was just too long. Regardless, great video. Very entertaining!

And then AstroHistorian lored all over everybody.

We can pretty much say that the UEE “lost his hair but never his habit” as we say in our country.
Your videos are awesome dude. There must've been a lot of research to get all these pieces together, tnx for your hard work! 😀
Thanks a ton!

Sounds like Invictus needs a player protest. Just to keep adding to the lore of Stanton. Now if we could make signs in game.
You and Byf have been the sole purveyors of lore for me. Thank you for what you do!!
Wow! This lore drop is really impressive. Can't believe you gleaned all of this from the lore. Also, great job on editing and music choice.
Sounds like the UEE is trying to sweep shit under the rug irl
Just found this channel and wanted to chime in to say it would be awesome to hear the Messer story.

Stellar job and this is why I loved Levski, but it is now in Nyx.
Really nice spooky lore story! Thank you so much. I really enjoyed the story.

Eminent Domain; WHAM.
20:50 Yeah. "Non-lethally disable" ground personnel. With a Gladius. On Daymar. /eyeroll
Just a reminder, all the sources for lore are from the UEE perspective.
@@TheAstroHistorian I'm just saying, that's blatant bullshit from the UEE.
This is incredibly topical
Really intrigued to see if the Dusters are connected to those who defied the UEE!
