Really enjoyed your thorough review, especially the software setup piece you did. Thanks for that. I'm considering a Terramaster DAS but can't seem to figure out which one, if any, supports their much touted TRAID feature. Do you know?
Great review, did you test the D5-300 or D5-300C as they have different advertised speeds. The D5-300 is advertised as USB3.0(Gen1) (220MB/s) and D5-300C claims USB3.1 (5Gbps). I'm looking to attach this to an Unraid system.
A very nice video, thanks. I'd have a question: when creating an array, are disks are in the RAW format? I plan to connect this to a raspberry pi and format as ext4 to have a NAS. I have read that it is good to create uninitialized partitions that are a little bit smaller than the disk first, then create the array, then format it. Would it be possible with this unit?
Hi. Thanks for the info. I know this is an old unit at this stage but I’ve a question. If you install 5hd can you make the first 3 raid 5 and the other 2 RAID 1 or 0. In other words , mix and match your raid configs within the one DAS? TIA
@@overclockersclub i have the same question and asked to the assistance, they said me that D5-300C can make RAID only on the 1st and 2nd slot, 3rd, 4th and 5th work as single HD. Instead D5-300 can be used to make 2 different raid, for example HDD1 raid1 with HDD2 and HDD3 raid1 with HDD4. What do you think?

Hi. I see you used the software to configure the unit. As you’re moving it from machine to machine do they also require the software to be installed ?
Does this support jbod?

How old is this video? It says 2 months - and you sat this is a “new” product - but I’ve owned this particular unit for 5+ years.
What's the height size of this from bottom of feet to top? Trying to see if it will fit in TV unit gap. Thanks :)
How do you like your unit? Any issues?

I had serious heating problems with Terramaster. Fans don't work well

No - not this unit. I think you want the D5-300C. www.terra-master.com/global/products/homesoho-das.html
@@overclockersclub thanks for getting back to me.
